PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I'm pretty certain it was the PL who errored in their press release as they later quietly changed the release to the correct rule numbers, if it was everyone else misreading it I doubt they would have changed it.
I do think that's pretty irrelevant though, the people actually running the case aren't the same people writing the press releases so all the legal documents will be correct (you'd hope).
It does show a degree of sloppiness though, you'd think for such an unprecedented statement someone from the legal team would have had a bit of a proofread.
The number of the rules can charge each season and led to some confusion on what exactly the charges were especially when the not every rule book were available online
Yes they did correct some of the charges but it didn’t lead to the long grass etc

I think the references are from the latest version of the rules, and posters here have looked back to the correct set of rules in force at the time and noticed the references are wrong. To me that suggests the opposite to your proposition, and that the charges have been brought up now and hence use the current references.

I’m not sure if the incorrect list of charges is just from a statement, where perhaps the references have been restated to the latest rules for the ease of understanding, and the actual charges have been properly stated to City, or not. Either way it’s confusing.

I think the only thing it shows is that, like their referees and everything else about them, they aren't very competent.

Yes, I can imagine.

But I am still struggling with it, in all honesty. As it's a legal process, though, I suppose it's best to let the legal guys explain it.

You're doing better than me mate.

It's honestly way over my head, and regardless of how simplistic some people try and explain it then I still can't really grasp what's about to take place.

I understand at a basic level that we are charged with deliberately lying on our accounts for a period of at least 9 years.

I don't understand in what way, I don't understand anything about how likely/unlikely or even to which standard that has to be proven and to top it off, if found guilty of the most serious charges (or all), we're talking anything from a fine and a transfer ban to the stripping of titles...surely someone would know the most likely end result if a panel decision goes against us.

Whole thing leaves me wondering what the fuck is going on tbh. Wake me up in 2027.

Has anyone seen @Prestwich_Blue interview with Cheesey? I love the line that the PL are firing Bugs Bunny shotgun pellets that will need picking out of our backside rather than a Clint Eastwood Magnum 44 shot that would take us out
completely.
Glad it amused you. I've shot .44 and .458 weapons and they were bad enough being at the right end.

The point I was making was that there seem to be a lot of charges but there's probably only two, maybe three, actual substantive ones. And I think they're a bit weak. If the PL can't land those substantive charges then the rest, bar maybe the non-cooperation ones, fall.

I think we can get a bit more out of the Warner Brothers analogies: Hopefully the Premier league are as organised as Wile E.Coyote on his rocket-powered roller skates.

I watched your interview last night, and I thought that it was nicely done with you and Ian.

You need to shoot the new "spear" round. .277 Fury

The bullet goes 3000 feet per second and packs a real punch!

It's going to replace the 5.56 NATO ammunition as M-4's are going to be retired and replaced with the Sig Sauer XM5 Spear chambered with Fury!

A lot of blues on here have been very patient in explaining what exactly all these charges mean. I don't really understand all the ins and outs or nitty gritty but it seems like the premier league clubs really have their knickers in a twist. I don't know how everyone else feels but I cannot wait till this is finished as I'm totally and utterly bored with it. Someone posted Ferran Soriano looked fed up today and I'm not surprised. At least he gets paid a decent wage to deal with this sort of stuff. As the club statement says...looking forwards to it being sorted once and for all.

Amongst the worst.
Think he possibly is the worst. At least amongst those that have a decent level of exposure. Nick Harris and Ed McKenna are both arguably worse but the former is a busted flush and the latter has retired from journalism to concentrate full time on his passions for dog wanking and preposterous conspiracy theories.

Rob Harris isn’t far behind Delaney, but at least he is (there or thereabouts) of average intelligence.

For me, the nuisance of Delaney’s output is greatly accentuated by the fact that he a sinfully thick ****. Irrespective of his tendentious City output, it is truly astonishing to me that he has reached the position he has.

He truly is thick as fuck.
