PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Hes on BBC Five Live news stating that a point penalty is the only way as a finical punishment wouldn't affect City as its owned by a sovereign wealth fund Said it before he's a closet rag he openly admits to watching them when he lived in Manchester
How can he believe we are owned by a Sovereign Wealth Fund? Neither UEFA or the PL have claimed that. Our owner Sheikh Mansour has been accused of using his money to boost sponsor income. I thought Maguire was an expert.

Of course that’s how the law works… rich people don’t get fined because they can afford to pay! What’s that clown on and how does he get a platform to spout such drivel.

I've still no idea why the club isn't putting stuff out to friendlier sources as we seem to accept leaks from the opposition camp without responding. It's completely one way traffic and a free hit for all concerned.
A wise head keeps a still tongue.

I asked someone I know at the club what the mood was like now that the case has finally started, and he said no-one is even really talking about it, which is hopefully a sign of supreme confidence. There doesn't seem to be any emergency contingency plans being drawn up, or people fearing for their jobs or anything like that, just business as usual. Given what's at stake, namely an existential threat to the club, you'd expect there to be a bit more concern if they truly feared the possibility of a guilty verdict.

As I said earlier, he isn't a lawyer.

His answer should be, I think: If any allegations are proven that infer a sporting advantage, then a sporting sanction of some sort (and the panel has a wide discretion) is appropriate; If any allegations are proven that don't lead to a sporting advantage, then a financial sanction is appropriate.

So it's possible the club could be hit with both, with one, or with none.

As for sovereign wealth fund, I don't know where he gets that from. That Mansour has invested in a private capacity has never been challenged by UEFA, at CAS, by the PL or, for that matter, in any other legal proceedings, afaik.

I know everyone goes on about how city can afford the best legal minds in the business but has anyone ever considered why Pannick would take a case that he is 100 percent going lose according to the esteemed media?

Purely monetary? Nah these fellas are loaded. His reputation will certainly take a hit if we end up losing with “irrefutable evidence”.

Game within games…
