PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I think there’s a good chance that we’ll be awarded costs, or a decent proportion at least, if we win. The idea that we’re going to start suing all of our detractors is fanciful at best though, as you say.
That's fine as long as a not guilty verdict brought an end to all the innuendo.

If it doesn't the club HAS to go all out on the attack and sue for libel and slander.

Like I say, good luck calling somebody a cheat from a Royal Family

So many journalists either simply don’t understand the CAS verdict, or deliberately misrepresent it.
You are correct, which is unbelievable when they are definitively delivering a message to such a wide range of people - but what’s even more remarkable is that it doesn’t appear to occur to any of them that if true, UEFA misapplied its own rules in a way that is grossly incompetent - and yet that narrative never gets spun, which underscores the real purpose of the reporting.

The PL wanted Everton to pay the legal costs. The cheeky f*ckers.

If the PL lose against City the costs will be paid by the PL and other 19 PL clubs. That won't go down well with the Red Shirt Cartel clubs. :-)

What about legal costs?

This specific case is six years in the making, so legal fees on both sides are already estimated at tens of millions of pounds before the hearing even starts.

Expect whichever side 'wins' to make a claim for costs.

For context, the Premier League wanted Everton to pay the full £4.9m legal costs of their first PSR six-point deduction case from last season.

Everton's lawyer Celia Rooney told the appeal that those figures were “frankly eye-watering”.

However, an appeal board ruled Everton should pay £1.7m and the Premier League cover the remaining £3.2m legal fees.

Any costs being paid by the Premier League at the end of the City case would have to be spread across the 20 clubs which make up the league.

I hope we wipe the floor with them. Headlines such as relegation isn't good enough if proven guilty is ridiculous.

Hopefully we win and take them for everything.

Just seen him talking now.
Surprised by his reaction to it all, I'd expect him to be a bit more bullish and have a bit of faith in the process.
That statement was from the ex head of the FA not the former Chairman of MCFC.

Much like when he was in the Royal Box at the FA Cup Final when we were been presented with the cup, he was struggling to keep his emotions in check!

Yeah i agree.
I dont think for one second our owners are the sort to go all put attack. It would be a complete 360 on their normal way of doing things. I think they will just want an end to it all.

I would however hope that any future slander is jumped on from a great height

If they try to get us to pay a share of their costs, we should tell them to fuck off. You just know they will do that, the arseoles
