PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

For me this is not funny but stupid. I would like to know more about the charges from the specialists like Maguire or slbsn, not from all these twats who know nothing. Find proves, we will talk. After two years from 115 they are rewriting the same stories non stop.

Bloody hell this has been rumbling on forever you'd have to be deaf dumb and blind not to have seen one of the many interviews by so called legal experts.

I actually got sent a message from a bloke I used to work with today. It went like this

"Morning mate just an interest question what's man City being investigating for?"

Now he's not a rag, Arsenal fan or a dipper and is in his sixties. I wanted to reply, "Are you fucking stupid it's not been off the news for years!" Instead I told him to Google it. Fuck explaining all that.

The correct answer was “ruining football”

To be honest unless you take a deep murky dive into the charges and how they relate to football it does look a little vague, it's not like the charges are issued in plain language the average grunt can understand.

I am an average grunt BTW.

I imagine “acting in bad faith” would be difficult to prove as surely it would mean unpicking the witness’ intention at the time.

Seems too abstract a thing to prove?

Their whole case is difficult to prove, of course, which is the biggest problem they have.

My only point is that it is a little simplistic to say the literal reading of each of the rules suggests the club hasn't broken them when the PL's case is that the directors of the company initiated a conspiracy with its owners and sponsors to deceive their auditors, file accounts they knew didn't give a true and fair view and then deliberately conceal that fact from the PL.

Do I think they can prove that? Not a chance for the reasons I have set out many times on here. But, if they can, then it is the very definition of acting in bad faith towards the PL, hence the inclusion of that rule in the first tranche of charges.

All imho, of course.
