Assume the PL. If we are found guilty there may be costs to pay.Out of interest, who is paying the independent commission?

Is the super league not in place of CL for now but can see where it’s goingCall me paranoid, but the timing of the Super League announcement isn’t at all suspicious. We may think some mental theories us blues, but could the PL have rushed through these charges as they knew the Super League would eventually come back in a reformed way and they’re trying to protect their product by keeping the likes of United and Liverpool on their side?
Sick of all this bullshit to be honest, it’s corrupt to the core.
Licence.
What superb timing for the announcement. Almost as if it was planned.See a new super league proposal has been announced
It won't have any effect on us signing players they won't give a shit once we speak to them, and it's a simple clause in the contract to cover the player. Don't believe the doom and gloom narrative in the press, especially when over the next few weeks this story will die down.Rik re your last paragraph ,I think the problem will be ,what players will want to sign for City with these charges hanging over them, I believe this is what the enemy are hoping for, we won't be able to sign players such as Bellingham etc therefore falling behind the likes of the dippers and rags who will have free reign.
Ohhh very sorry the Premier league,,, then.as its the premier league and not the football association it wont matter what the football association say
We did. Invited to participate in the Belgian case we declined but subbed the supporters club action. They won Incidently at first instance and ffp was declared illegal Then the politics started. Case has been in limbo for several years, EU declining to take part in a higher court.Hindsight is a wonderful thing but it's a shame the club did not spend the legal costs on fighting FFP from day one instead of this sh1t show.

They both piss in the same bog as we all know
I don't think the auditor will be in any trouble. Most of auditing nowadays is ticking boxes and ensuring the figures are shown in compliance with the standards for that size of company. If there is a contract where someone overseas is supposed to be paying, say, £48M a year at £4M per month then so long as the monthly receipts come in that is it. The auditor is not obliged to travel to the Middle East to check up on where the money is actually coming from which would be impossible in any event. The audited accounts profit than gets adjusted by whichever football body is looking at them, either downwards if they think some income is excessive or even upwards if you have written off, say, academy costs which may be allowable.good post mate and spells out exactly the nature of the challenge. Either they are saying we and our auditors have cheated on a massive scale (that would be unique in UK sport), or that the sponsorship has come indirectly from HRH the Sheik. In that second option, surely the auditor would also have to ensure that any sponsorship over £10m was compliant within FP rules of the time?
I just find this whole charge over such a prolonged period so unbelievable that its not easy to come to any other conclusion that the PL are utterly, utterly corrupt and are simply the mouthpiece of a band of rival/enemy clubs who will distance themselves as soon as it becomes clear the charges will largely fail. (and set up a new Super League).
