PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Nice of RAWK to drag out some of Delooney's greatest hits (this one from February 2023) to present as evidence that we're banged to rights...

If City are bang to rights with the points outlined in this article. Why has it taken the Premier league so long to move forward with it? They had that info back in early 2020, if it’s so cut and dry why haven’t they got City on a spike already?

This whole charade is a symptom of the Super League not happening, the Super League would have been United and Liverpool’s way of putting together a competition on their terms. Since it’s gone pear shaped and fell through, the premier league is their way to get City fucked over. There is no coincidence that both these clubs have been actively looking for new owners in the past 12 months, they don’t have the ideas or capital to compete with City.

Guessing I might also be correct here that united and Liverpool may be more attractive to buyers if they think there's a chance we'll get a strong punishment. It would make their chances of success and chances of increased glory and prize money more likely.

And this makes the current owners able to get a better price perhaps?

Can I reiterate once again that the independent and every other mardarse bitter publication are accusing Sheikh Mansour, deputy prime minister of The UAE, an Emirati Royal and a professional politician, of lying, knowingly covering up sponsorship deals and putting his reputation on the line.
Are these morons aware of the implications of throwing accusations at someone like him?

This isn't going to end well for the WhatsApp group and the Harris wankers and deloony. They are living on borrowed time my pedigree chums.
I don't agree with FFP and don't think the charges will stick, but the idea that rich and powerful people are somehow above suspicion is one that I find bizarre.

That's not to suggest that our owners are anything but paragons of virtue, but the World is absolutely full of the rich, the powerful, royals and politicians who absolutely don't care about rules. The UK is considered one of the least corrupt countries in the World, but our politicians, corporations, royals are up to shady shit constantly.

As I said, I don't believe these charges will stick, and I think City are being targeted unfairly, but putting your trust in powerful people is a one way ticket to a whole world of disappointment.

Our guys do billion dollar deals every week. I doubt they have ever (at least I hope they have never) done one without understanding exactly what they were getting into. That is the part that is missing for me.

Khaldoon never said they didn't understand what they were doing, iirc, just that it was a mistake. There is a huge disconnect there which I would really like to know more about but never will, I suppose.
They were making a business decision & knew exactly what they were doing. A choice between being the one team left in a Bundesliga type league with none of the champions league revenues or jumping in with the cartel clubs & making money out of the tourist fans who turned up for Real Madrid & Bayern.
Make no mistake about it because no matter how much revenue we bring in, we wouldn't be able to do that with out the other big 6 clubs.

I just don't think they are. Maybe that is me with my blue tinted specs on but I can't see our owner letting us down, the club, himself, his country, his faith and his religion down by being shady and doing dodgy deals.
Like you say he could be corrupt to the hilt, we all got opinions but personally I just think it would be a massive gamble for a person of his stature to gamble his reputation to save a few quid or to cover up alleged inflated sponsorship deals.
Not a cat in hells chance he would he gamble the club's future.
