PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The big difference is that Everton have clearly fallen foul of FFP regulations and i believe it is fully documented in their accounts, as such there is little to debate. However we are on completely different charges that if proven may then lead to FFP infringements.

My concern throughout all of this is the number of charges and the way they have been reported, in reality it is 6 charges over a number of years, their is a reason they released them the way they did, it is all about reputational damage. You have to wonder if this has had any impact on potential sponsership and investment.

My worry is that we were found guilty by UEFA and everyone jumped on the bandwagon and slated us, on appeal we saw just how fucked up and flimsey the evidence was against us. but we were still heavily tarnished. In the case of these charges as I understand it we don't have the immediate right of appeal to an organisation such as CAS.

We'll only ever clear our name with the people that actually matter... the authorities who run the game

We'll never clear our name with the media and definitely not with fans of other clubs

If, as we all hope and expect. we are found not guilty or if the charges are completely dropped, or if we just get a slap on the wrist.... in no time at all the general consensus is that "you paid off the PL as well as UEFA and CAS".. or "You forced the Government to get the PL to back off"

We may as well accept now that we will still be corrupt to the core in the eyes of the majority and nothing we ever say or do will change that
Corrupt to the core in the same way that the team plays in front of an empty stadium.
Fans of other teams will never accept and admit that we deserve the success we have.
Which is probably fair enough since we generally don't accept that of them.

Cue the onslaught of clubs behind the scenes picking up the phone to the PL today asking about us.

That’s made me a bit nervous, though. Although when was Everton’s investigation announced? That deduction seems to have come quicker than ours…
1 charge only for Everton, bound to have been rushed through quicker. But if we do get a points deduction for our 115 charges, that's 115x10 =1150 points deduction. Lol

What evidence is there of any reputational damage against us, it's worked exactly the opposite just look at the accounts, see how many kids are turning up to stadium tours, trophy tours all round the country, it's huge.
It's football tribalism, haters will always be haters, you would not have heard a peep from anybody if we'd won fuck all.
Relax and enjoy the ride, it's only just begun.
The only question would be what effect has it had on the attitude of would be investors, sponsors etc. Has any company turned away because our accounts are false?
I think the answer is no.

Everton’s charges were announced a month after ours. Their hearing date was announced in August I think, surely if the Premier League are confident in their case they should be well on with it. We haven’t heard anything since February 2023, not even who will be sitting on the three person panel. If they are confident of the case and they have the smoking gun in black and white, why is there a wall of silence?

I would say that they have caused reputational damage. It's not impacted us financially perhaps, but in a sporting context the success we have had has been caveated by the charges. Instead of just celebrating our success it was "City, who face 115 charges" repeated in every article or on every radio station.

We could just get on with it and not care what rival fans or the media think, but I personally do.
If it hadn't been the charges it would have been oil money, state owned, stealing the world best, only because we spent X billion-in fact it's all those things as well. Just ignore it.

That’s 12 seasons worth, down to the Lancashire league we go…….and we’ll piss it!
”Today City established a scoring record for this league of
15—0. The average age of the team was 15, also a record. A City spokesman said:’We had as many in the ground as we had at York City’”

There is a wall of silence from the club as well. Just because your underground and can't see the rain doesn't mean it's not raining.
