PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I would say so. They couldn't afford to waste a minimum of two years of their short footballing life in the lower divisions. Peps contract expires this year so he would be off too, no matter what he says. Also the club wouldn't be able to afford their wages.
I watched a podcast with Sam Allardyce and some ex Sunderland player. Natalie Pike was hosting it. Both thought we'd win the case but a good point was made about points deductions if we didn't. If it was a large points deduction spread over a number of years that would effectively rule us out of winning the title for however long it lasted. That's because recently the points difference between first and second has been very small. So even a minus five points deduction each season would probably be enough to ensure we couldn't win it.

These are all worse case scenarios of course. Let's hope our case is as strong as we've been told and we have nothing to worry about.
Just have to keep winning the CL then!

Doesn't matter to me.
I'd just go back to supporting chelsea.

If it was two divisions, every single one of them would leave. Including the local lads who are city fans.
Same.

All together now....

"Ten men went to mow....."

Have to check if I've still got my 2007/08 shirt in the back of the wardrobe...

This is why I no longer watch Talksport clips, even those including Stefan. I think that, for the quality of output he produces, Talksport is beneath him. Certainly not knocking him for going on there though.
I think it's a waste of time having Stefan on .They ask his opinion, then Jordan and Shouty constantly interupt and speak loudly over him offering their 'correct ' opinion .

It's better than him not being on. I can't think of another media voice that has scared the shit out of our rival fans. They rubbish everything he says but it has made them think of an alternative.

I’m just tired of it all tbh, the constant sniping and defending of it, if and it’s a big if we lost we’d be absolutely fucked, but there no way they are spending £300 million on the north stand etc if there was even a remote chance of that happening I just can’t see it, the repercussions not just for us but the whole league would be monumental. I couldn’t see it ending with us, leaks and information about other clubs would start to leak out maybe from information we have on everyone, people in glass houses etc. it could bring the league down.

Here's a question. If the worst was to happen and we got relegated a division or two, which player would stay

They’d all go unless they were will to play for free. Clubs outside the PL can’t afford £350m p/a in wages. The club would be literally kicking the likes of Haaland out the door.

There seems to be this narrative that we get relegated and then we get promoted and then with a couple of years we are back fighting for the title. It’s nonsense. Look at the rules that are in place now…look at Newcastle. If we go down, we are fucked.
I’d look forward to trying to rebound back with a squad full of youth players, with the added benefit of £1 ticket prices. We could sell 80% of the squad and use the money to buy some more quality youth players from around the world, to join our already blossoming youth squads.

It could be like Football Manager, managing Crewe Alexandra with a billion pound transfer kitty.
What’s not to like?

Oh don't get me wrong , he's one of the few giving City's side of the argument , and I admire him for that. He almost mirrors the club's stance on the matter staying calm and measured whilst all around are frothing at the mouth.

I watched a bit of the overlap, I had too just to see how hysterical other fans are about us going down.
Carragher - Scruffy **** saying it's impossible for us to earn that much money.
Scholes - Fat boring little prick when asked does he know if city have broke regulations, says nothing, city fan in audience shrugs shoulders at him as if to say you don't know to which ginger pig replies well it's highly likely.
Utd fan in audience - sportswashing sportswashing yadda yadda yadda
Ugly Scouse cow in audience - guilty guilty guilty.

The whole lot of them, all mardarse cunts from red cartel teams, are absolutely crestfallen and heartbroken we've won the lot and they've won nothing. It was a communal cry arse session where they all gathered and let their bitterness flood out.

Red cartel wankers.

For my own understanding, if we were to be expelled/relegated from the Premier league, why would we not go straight in to the championship? Why would it be League 2? The PL dont have say over the Football league do they?

It's not as black and white as that. The club would still be generating vastly more money than any other club in any league it was in due to sponsorship and other income streams. It is highly unlikely Etihad would turns its back on the club. Yes you would need to sell many top players, but that money would be reinvested. You don't need Haaland if you're in a lower league, you just need players who are better than anyone else in that league. Obviously none of this will happen as the owners know they've already escaped such fantasy sanctions, hence why they've just expanding the stadium
In our latest accounts we had record revenues of just over £700m and yet only made £80m in profit. Of that £700m, £300m of it was broadcast revenue, the majority, for being in the PL and reaching the final of the CL. These revenues would disappear overnight. That wipes out the profit and gives us an approx. £200m black hole.

The leagues below the PL also have FFP/PSR, so if we go down there, we would have similar rules to abide by but with a much lower turnover. We would be looking for players earning £10kp/w not £300kp/w. It would be a fire-sale and if after all that, we could somehow scrape a side together that could get promoted, we would be back in the PL at a starting point similar to just before the Mansour takeover but now with rules in place that would make a similar investment in players and subsequent rise through the PL almost impossible.

The club will always go in in some shape or form, of that I am certain. However, this current Manchester City, this behemoth of a club, would IMO be effectively finished by a guilty verdict.

I know that sounds pessimistic and possibly overly dramatic but that’s how it feels to me. I pray I am miles wide of the mark.

Reputational damage.
A couple of months ago in the Associated Partners case, there was media talk about obtaining all communications between "member clubs" that mentioned Manchester City, that talk has gone very quiet, but I believe that it could explode and be very nasty for the yank owned red shirted hypocrites
