PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Perhaps Americans being so use to riding rough shot over anything they don't agree with, can do the same in the UK. So far it seems they can.

They no outcry from the public or press/media for points deduction etc for bringing illegal rules. In fact it's the opposite blaming City for challenging the illegal rules !
Perhaps the Americans you are referring to were used to running roughshod over everyone and everything but that ship has sailed here. Unfortunately for you they can continue to do so there...

I believe the American business model is incompatible with British and European values.

There, I've said it. We have to choose, one or the other. It's deluded to think we can accommodate both. And the truth is we are more fitted to our own (broadly European) model.
The American business model is incompatible with most human values.

At what point does the government or a similar body get involved to force the pl to go by the rules of the country ?

You can't have organisation working in England and working outside the laws of the land. That would lead to chaos across all walks of life
The past 2 governments appear to be more bent than the PL god help us if they get involved

Just looked on Betfair to check that Liverpool at 13/10 are indeed the current favourites to win the league title. When checking relegation odds, found Liverpool @ 500/1 same as Arsenal. For some reason, Man City are 9/1 for relegation, around the same as Brentford, West Ham & Bournemouth. Do the bookmakers know something?

Yes the bookmakers do know something.

They know that if they offer 500/1 against for us and lots of opposition fans lump on in the hope that we are then they'll lose a fortune if the unlikely happens.

Probably trying to make it look like a possibilty so that scores of mug redtops put "a few quid on".

Look at it like this, they are suggesing that its 9/1 us being found guilty enough to get relegated.

So thats 9/1 for one of only a couple of outcomes..............aint happening.

Sure they know as much as we do but they have to cover all possibilities I suppose. Leicester was a huge shock for them!

If they knew we were getting found guilty the odds they’d be offering would be nowhere near as high as 9/1.

It's been like that for about a year

Just a reflection of all the red cartel bellends getting giddy and lumping money on us to be chucked out of the PL

I find bookmakers set odds off of gossip.

My guess is that the sad rags and dipper fans have lumped on.

There’s no way a bookies would keep us at 500/1 with the threat of relegation being there.

If we were to get relegated and there was, say, £50k bet on us getting relegated across the country, they’d owe out £25m. There’s no way they’d take that chance, so they play safe and reduce the odds.

We've been priced fairly short in comparison to how we usually would (and how Liverpool, Arsenal are) since the odds were first released. It's been brought up before quite a bit on this thread, the current prices are very little to do with being backed in - I can't remember exactly what we started out at but from memory it wasn't any bigger than 15/1. So it's possible to some extent we've been backed in from 15s to 9s with various bookies, others still have us 12s, but again they will be adjusting their odds based on risk throughout too.

TL;DR, don't bother with them meantime. A complete red herring. Simply a case of bookmakers weighing up risk/reward accordingly.
