PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

He was heavily involved in the Football Regulator Bill. He’s spoken at Select Committees in Parliament.

True, to be fair to him, he is a Chartered Accountant, has written a book on football finance and lectures on accountancy at Liverpool University.

Mind you, Soriano has written a book about management but I wouldn't let him near a Spanish airline :)

And, also to be fair to him, he doesn't know much about law and it shows. He should read this thread from beginning to end ......... and he is a FAW.

Someone asked a question and I answered it. The point of a select committee is they ask experts in their field to provide advice, expertise and evidence.
fair point, i just dont consider to be the best in the field, just the most vocal

I’m calling bullshit on that.
So there’s documentation that shows we’re guilty but it’s not in the public domain.
Why not?
If that were true every man and his dog would’ve have seen it considering how the media have gone after us from day one.
We keep hearing about these so called documents but not one person has leaked these, not one.
I’m also calling bullshit cos McGuire talks out of his arse most of the time and is one of the worst ‘experts’ I’ve heard.
Doesn’t this all sound like the the mysterious ‘time-barred’ evidence that was full of proof against City, but couldn’t be used.
City are cleared but there are huge doubts because there are these documents that nobody can see but contain damning evidence of guilt but weren’t used in the case because…. well…. because we…..errr…bribed someone maybe!
Simply more smokescreen and obfuscation designed to create doubt.

He's not bad, but, when he started doing his own assessments of the finances of individual clubs, it was abundantly clear that Swiss Ramble's similar work was superior in every respect. He sometimes makes mistakes he shouldn't and it's for these reasons that I said the other day Maguire's biggest talent lies in his ability for self-promotion.

That said, he's certainly on a different level from those two fucking clowns at Sheffield Hallam who occasionally find their way into the media. Maybe we should be grateful for small mercies.

As far as I am aware, the panel is already looking at allegations of inflated sponsorships in 115/130 charges. So, if City are cleared of any financial wrong doing by the panel, the information Maguire is talking about will become quickly irrelevant unless it represents something new that the PL/the panel have not already seen. Anyone can come up with a dossier about anything and on the face of it, it may look plausible, but when you compare it with the actual facts, supposedly compelling dossiers might just be hocus pocus. Interestingly, Tebas has strong associations with VOX, a political party in Spain, and the party is apparently unapologetically Islamophobic...OK, so they don't like muslims...so City and PSG's primary investors are muslim. This is no doubt driving his crazy agenda against City. But, when people get extreme in their political views, there are often contradictions to contend with. For example, La Liga have opened an office in Saudi Arabia and received investment from Riyadh. Perhaps this is why Tebas is not pointing the finger at Newcastle United at the moment. Maguire may think the information is intriguing, but I sense he may have been looking an agenda driven dossier as opposed to something that really is truly compelling. Only time will tell.

yeah Rabin created a long X thread about Tebas and his fascist links,
It's worth a read if you want to see some dots joined up about how European Fascists operate and intertwine

There will be another story along for KM. Always is. He won’t be at all concerned about that.
Anybody know any email addresses in the Cayman Islands? Now if the recipient opened a phishing email that would be an interesting story!

If we're cleared of the major charges and only get a punishment for not complying, then I think that will draw a line under the whole thing for many.
Most fair minded football fans/pundits will no longer throw out the 115 charges in that case, and to those that do, we can say that there was a hearing and we weren't found guilty of the main accusations.
The folk who will throw shit if you are cleared are complete dickheads who are influenced by youtube nobheads who aint got the bottle to get into a real debate about this because they are simple twats ................. thats how you should base it

With all due respect, it's you who's adding that bit in for whatever reason. It's certainly not what he's said in the transcript which others have published or on the poster's comment which you've quoted.

’seen documents that aren’t in the public domain that shows City inflated its sponsorship revenue’
If it shows that we inflated sponsorship revenue that means we’re guilty.
As it turns out he actually didn’t say that as I found out in the pages after my post, the post I was replying to did.
I ain’t added shit.
