PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

City have always maintained we did cooperate.
My thoughts exactly, but I thought they objected to certain information that might be consider “business confidential” being handed over? I may be completely wrong, but that’s why I have always thought “Oh, then I guess they’ll have us on that!” Unless, of course, the Panel agrees that the information was either not necessary or could be reasonably considered to be a confidential business matter they didn’t want to share with other clubs?!

Who the fuck knows anymore?!

Oliver Holt with his I watched City back in the day quotes, apparently when we were a real club. What a ****, he hates City.

He doesn’t hate City… he hates himself and the world. That’s why he writes bitter negative drivel at every turn. Look at how he reacted to Newcastle winning the League Cup - he just lives in a cycle of hate and bitterness that runs through his veins. I pity the man.

Holt in the Mail, behind their stupid paywall, seems to be resigned to us winning judging by the headline as he tells whover is willing to pay to read his shite who the real winners are. Bad news for football apparently.

The way he’s laid that out is setting the ground for a similar outcome to ATP.

That was initially presented as “some wins” for both sides when in reality we fucking leathered them into next week.

Reading between the lines we’re going to be found to have breached “something”. Probably non-cooperation.

That way, we can say we won because we were cleared of the substantive, meaningful charges but they can claim they won due to us “not cooperating”.

Should that pan out, we would appeal re the non-cooperation.

I’ll say now that if the above pans out I’ll be very happy and will very quickly move on and forget the whole thing.

We’d have cleared our name and anyone with a brain cell would see the non-cooperation findings as childish spitefulness from the PL.

The article says that whatever the outcome, "nobody wins". It mentions quite a lot about how the big clubs (not just City) have ruined football. It's mostly about what happens if City win, and ends with just one token paragraph about us potentially losing.

"And if City ‘lose’? Well then we are into a world of asterisks and points deductions and glee from rival fans and the staining of one of the greatest club sides we have seen in the English game and punitive lawsuits that will last for eternity.

Whenever ‘imminent’ turns into now, both sides will claim victory and neither will be able to grasp that they have lost."
Seems like a positive sign.

The flipping of the order (city winning 1st vs losing 2nd) and the amount of spiel spouted (ditto), is very different to the the past 2 years unrelenting ‘guilty’ and zero chat about ‘no evidence’

For anyone who wants to read it.

Wonderful - may as well hand out the cigars cos this **** may as well have just said after 2 years of calling City cheats, it now looks like we can’t.

Fuck me, Simon Cliff can’t have a lower profile & he’s just compared him to Elon Musk.’

Over this insufferable length of time I’ve done my very best to understand the in’s and out’s of these charges, etc. I haven’t succeeded. Now, my only wish is that all those journalists, media outlets and rival clubs who have consistently had a go at my club and tried to besmirch its name are financially punished. IMO this has been a case driven by jealousy, bitterness and greed and needs calling out for what is.

Still find it bizarre how anyone can be hit with non-cooperation charges if they are found not guilty on the ACTUAL charges. Seems a really spiteful thing to push for if the defendant has been completely exonerated.
tbh it just shows what a sham of a kangaroo court that it is, if none co-operation was an actual thing you could literally bang anyone up for anything at anytime with the sole proviso that we know that you did it, we cant prove it but its your fault that we cant prove it so we'll bang you up for that instead.

I would say that if we're proved innocent then it's not City that have "ruined football", it's the premier league for running with this whole fiasco.

This all reminds me of the build up to the 50th anniversary of Munich and the media supporting the rags holier than thou attitude, whilst conveniently ignoring that City had never abused Arsene Wenger or celebrated Leeds fans being killed in Istanbul.

We were slandered every day for 6 weeks, but when it finally arrived and we respected the minute's silence, did we get 6 weeks of apologies?

Did we fuck. Just a sense of anti climax.

‘Real club’. What the fuck does that even mean?
When we couldn’t compete, but had a good support who could laugh about it. But like when the Geordies were a real club until they beat the scousers at wembley, then it’s all about sports washing Arabs

we got the we are impeccable chant out of it tho

Imagine if we win full stop
This will be all forgotten about in a few weeks
What will the papers print then ?
If we lose it will go on for years
The single most important thing this season and possibly in our entire future - fingers crossed
I don’t think we will ever shake it personally, irrespective of the outcome.

Anti-climax, except for that we won the game… pretty much everyone had it written in the stars that we would roll over for them.

Brilliant win at their dump on a day that was meant to be all about them, while our fans were absolutely top-draw all day - “impeccable”, as described by Fergie, and loudly ensuring Frank Swift was not forgotten. I felt pretty climactic after that, to be fair!
