PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

The 'start if summer' apparently, according to these.

When does summer actually start here, mid August?

This is the only quote in the source article:

“There is such a big media frenzy around it that people have almost forgotten that this is what happens quite regularly in arbitration,” Maxime van den Dijssel, a sports and litigation lawyer at Brandsmiths and an expert in arbitration, told The i Paper."

“Arbitrators won’t necessarily pay attention to the frenzy around it [the case]. They’ll have a lot of material to get through, the stakes are very high and they need to cover all bases. They won’t want to leave any room for either side to argue there is procedural unfairness."

“They will take that little bit longer to render a decision. It doesn’t necessarily indicate it’s going one way or another, it’s more a matter of them doing their job as carefully as possible."

“It does lead us into a position where we might not have a decision until leading into next season and then, subject to appeals, there’s going to be a lot of uncertainty about their placement in the league, how it impacts other clubs in the competition, so there is a lot we still don’t know."

“I’m not surprised it’s taking this long. It’s common for things to take this long. They have to all effectively sit in a room and decide and go through it, and when there’s that much material, it makes sense that it would take this long.”

Nothing we didn't already know. What nobody knows is how long it will actually take. The judgment could be issued next week or next season .....

Edit: I wouldn't mind having my chattels seized by this lawyer. And she lifts weights, so she probably could .....

I wasn't claiming to impart any new knowledge on anyone. Relax mate, this is a long journey be a while before we get there. And stop kicking my bloody seat! ;)

This is my first attempt at a YouTube short. Hopefully it will give any of you some ammunition to fire back at any of the 115 Brigade! I think we need to do more to push back against what other fans post online and end up believing. I'm sure I'm right about this and if I am it drives a ramrod through the whole thing:

Good effort but the slides kick over too fast

I don't prescribe to the "racist against Arabs/Muslims" view. I think it's to do with power and the loss of control. The premier league has become a monster and is attracting non traditional wealth into the game. It's a victim of its own success. We've gone from a clique of clubs able to outspend others and buy the best players available to keep hold of their position at the top of the table, to billionaires looking to buy into the game by purchasing the club's available, and rebuilding them into successful franchises. I think these new business models are what frightens both the traditionally big/successful clubs, the Premier league, and fans of those clubs. Even Real Madrid have had a meltdown about the Premier league, and specifically City, despite their massive success, because it feels threatened by what the future holds.

It's no secret that the Arabian Peninsula has been looking to invest its natural resource wealth into other areas for decades. They have seen the economic potential of sport, and bought into everything from golf, and Formula One, to football and boxing. It's a very serious economic plan which frightens and threatens the owners of the "traditional" sporting power structures like the Premier League, UEFA, and their traditionally successful clubs, and the USPGA. They simply weren't prepared for it. These structures relied on an old boys club mentality they were happy with, and that's gone. Now we are seeing the last desperate attempts to keep hold of power. The problem they face is the serious geopolitical and financial power of the people they are up against. We are talking everything from world energy supplies to intelligence agencies. It's far beyond anything they have had to deal with and I think the Premier League are now beginning to realise that.
I agree, the but is , what’s the betting the more American owners that take over clubs it won’t be long before there is no relegation no promotion.

Sky absolutely projected the premier league to be the best in the world, the money they put in undoubtedly made the league what it is today.

We have to be careful what we wish for . We see ultra capitalists destroying United , not that we are complaining, while our owners are investing and putting in not just taking out.

Now how is it that the USA owners get away with appalling business management but our owners Who are Arab and Muslim do not get equal treatment? Wonder why Newcastle now under scrutiny ?

City is my club, season ticket holder, suffered the 10 goals at home under SP.

My allegiance to my club is not reciprocated, the treatment of fans in Istanbul told me everything I needed to know about how much city actually care about genuine fans .

The game has changed. They don’t want us anymore, they are in the entertainment game now, it’s tourists not loyalty.

I’m not ok with it, I just understand it’s what happens under Ultra capitalism.

I've been going since the early 1980s and the club never gave a flying fcuk about us then. Match abandoned- you'll have to pay again, got a problem? tough! Phone the club, what do you want (if it was answered). Directions to every every away game stretched to 2-3 sentences in the programme. Toilets were appalling, catering naff. On the football special a cheese square on an unbuttered dry barm. Then you'd get shoved and ordered about by her majesty's constabulary. You were there for the match, that's all, nothing else was any good.

We're treated far better now than we ever were then.

I think people whinge too much. It is expensive nowadays, but isn't everything? A trip to the cinema to watch pre-recorded films is extortionate and the catering and environment is often awful. Restaurant meals are pricey too. A pint of beer has gone through the roof. Trying to park for parking van be a night mare. It really isn't that bad in comparison.

It's far safer to go to matches these days and it's more popular. That's the nuts and bolts of it.

Perhaps you should suggest the club re-introduces the "1980s experience" and you won't have to worry about tourists etc

I actually have no problem with tourist . My beef with how fans attending the final in Istanbul were treated is well documented if you take the trouble to read the list of complaints.

You would have loved Istanbul, the toilets were awful, food none existent, water was £5 for a gulp , 4 hours stuck in a Carpark waiting to leave , would have been a right nostalgic treat for you.

Can you imagine any of the Red top clubs fans being treated with such contempt and the club not forwarding a complaint on their behalf.

How much was your match day experience in the 80s ? Could you park near the ground in walking distance ? How many champions league finals did you attend at great expense?

You are trying to compare sticks with trees .

The games moved on. So should the matchday experience.

Next you will be telling me you had to get up for work before you went to bed and what luxury it was having a cardboard box to sleep in.

Istanbul - Let's remember the good things - WE WON. We actually had a brilliant time. Sure, Turkey was not a good place to hold a CL final - but that was UEFA's decision. Overall we had a great time and looked after ourselves.
I only want to recall those times - especially tonight watching the gunners fail yet again
