PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Surely if the PL know the outcome then so do City, and if that's the case we would want any positive news on this out in the open at the first possible opportunity.
PB who generally has been informative down the years is wrong here I believe. If City knew for certain that there was a positive verdict of course they would want it released. If the PL know the verdict and City havent been informed that would make a complete farce of the entire process.

we simply have to reassure ourselves from what the club has said from day one, two words ''irrefutable evidence'', take stock of the meaning of those two words then ballance it against the clubs financial activities from when these ridiculous charges were made, 300 million on re developement, millions in the transfer windows, extended contract to Haaland, sorry not going to happen if we have the slightest doubt were going to get hammered, from day one the club would have been legaly advised as to where they stand and further briefed up after the hearing from Pannick as to any potential incoming charges, sit back, light a cigar, pour a glass and enjoy life, they can sit on it until the cows come home but still nothings going to happen
if we didnt have the evidence we purport to have any smart legal mind would have advised us to try and cut some sort of a deal which we havent done, this idea that we have just been trying to delay the inevitable is ridiculous from a legal standpoint.

To me its absurd that a sporting organisation has engineered a process that has taken years to decide if it should issue charges, many months to establish a tribunal, months to conduct a hearing and many months to reach a verdict. The whole thing stinks to high heaven.
Of course it does,it’s achieved its effect though,a smear campaign that has dragged on and on,I just hope when we are cleared that we start bringing those to account who orchestrated this whole campaign be it a few months or years later down the line..

Like PB says its about playing the long game, if we have decided to play nice with the pl while they hunt for a successor to masters and we have some clout in who that successor is by playing nice then it makes much more sense to have that person on side than a short burst of glory.

We aren't getting muddier though. We're already muddy but we can see a nice hot bath waiting.

We've still got to work with these people (the PL and the other clubs), so I'm sure we're happy to do things nicely as long as the outcome is right.
I get what you’re saying. But the club should be getting our name cleared asap not by being nice to the people that had fucked us over for years.

I think/hope we. Will be cleared. I just think no one knows the outcome yet and it’s “itk’s” just guess work. If the premier league are head hunting a new CEO surly there would be wind of that somewhere

But goes against everything both Ahsan and Stefan have explicitly said repeatedly that the club don't know and haven't been told.

It just doesn't sit as logical that the club have been made aware of the outcome and are happy to sit on it at the request of those who've dragged us through the mud so that they can get their own house in order, meanwhile an independent financial regulator will be appointed anyway and absolutely fuck all has been leaked despite people on both sides seemingly knowing for months.

It stands to much more reason, imo, that we simply haven't been told and as yet.

i go with Prestwich on this, the club know exactly where they stand and have done since March and the PL are delaying although i cant see them delaying for a new CEO as when the shit hits the fan the excuse to replace the CEO is right infront of everyone, whatever the reasons could be who knows, maybe the PL are clutching on to something in the procedure of the hearing that isnt correct, could be anything but im 99.9% sure both parties are aware of the outcome and the indication is its in city's favor simply because of the transfer activities

You would imagine ideally the PL would want to release a result during a break from official football competitions, which we could have been involved in? Such as after the CWC final on Sunday?

I suggest the Red Cartel will have far more clout in determing a new CEO than we can ever hope far regardless of the outcome. I believe there is no way the decision has been known for months and not released or leaked.

PB didn't say that City haven't been informed, only that the Premier League asked for a delay in revelling the outcome.

Imagine if we won the CWC and the next day they announced we'd lost the case?!

It'd be better timing to announce we've won.

Regardless of the verdict, you would imagine they wouldn't want to be accused of potentially affecting the football on the field? Which if we had been still involved in the football final could have been the case? It will be big news, however it goes, and could quite easily have been accused of being a mental distraction for players, management etc.

Based on the little I know, my understanding is that the outcome has been decided for a few months.

The PL have requested the delay in publication and my supposition is that they want the time to headhunt a new CEO, because Masters won't survive once the verdict is public.
Politics internal and external always has its influence in these sort of hearings. Both sides get a chance to have their ducks in a row and the Government will be in the loop. It’s very different to a criminal hearing where the judge totally controls the timing. I suspect your summary is very close to the truth.
