I think your opinion is right, and that unlike in the past, we have probably gone for the throat in these proceedings, having finally come to the conclusion that turning the other cheek just wasn’t working. I have twice been told of City having audio of conversations between VAR officials and TV, where comments were made indicating clear bias. Once against Southampton at home in lockdown, when Foden was clearly fouled in the box. The other being the ridiculous offside goal of Rashford at the swamp, when the ‘levelling up’ comment was allegedly used to justify letting the goal stand. If that is true, and I believe it was, then you have to wonder why City didn’t go in double footed at the time, perhaps because we were winning everything anyway. But I don’t think we will have shied away this time, and I’m sure Pannick will have been taking no prisoners.
