PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

That mistake we’re repeating did net us about 15 trophies.

People are acting like we can’t win trophies with a stand in fullback and the last 9 years shows that to be false.

I would feel more comfortable with Livramento or someone similar, but Pep wouldn’t go into the season with a squad he thought couldn’t win everything.
The people acting like we can't win trophies with a stand in fullback would be more comfortable, like you, if we had Livramento or someone similar, including Pep

I have said it before so like an indigestion I will repeat myself. My view is that at the beginning the cartel and PL were the billy big bollocks thinking they could do anything regarding rules to keep themselves at the front of the trough. The APT case smashed that into little pieces. I have a feeling that if all the emails messages etc that City requested have been 'found' and handed over there could very well be some explosive material in there. Plus, I think City knew what they were looking for in these messages as they had already seen them before asking for them. My opinion, could be wrong though;-)
I think your opinion is right, and that unlike in the past, we have probably gone for the throat in these proceedings, having finally come to the conclusion that turning the other cheek just wasn’t working. I have twice been told of City having audio of conversations between VAR officials and TV, where comments were made indicating clear bias. Once against Southampton at home in lockdown, when Foden was clearly fouled in the box. The other being the ridiculous offside goal of Rashford at the swamp, when the ‘levelling up’ comment was allegedly used to justify letting the goal stand. If that is true, and I believe it was, then you have to wonder why City didn’t go in double footed at the time, perhaps because we were winning everything anyway. But I don’t think we will have shied away this time, and I’m sure Pannick will have been taking no prisoners.

Looks like the financial regulations are having the desired impact for certain clubs -

Most expensive signings of the summer:
  1. Florian Wirtz - Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool - £116m
  2. Hugo Ekitike - Eintracht Frankfurt to Liverpool - £69m
  3. Bryan Mbeumo - Brentford to Manchester United - £65m
  4. Viktor Gyokeres - Sporting to Arsenal - £64m
  5. Matheus Cunha - Wolves to Manchester United - £62.5m
  6. Martin Zubimendi - Real Sociedad to Arsenal - £60m
There is probably a good extra 100m in add-ons missing across that as well.

Chelsea have now been under investigation for 3 years have they not? Regardless of how ours pans out and the cost, they can't just sweep that under the carpet surely?
And that's with them 'fully cooperating' according to all reports.

Kind of fucks the narrative that our non cooperation is what stretched this out.

Well don't get me started on lawyers!! They have a deeply ingrained interest in keeping the pot on the boil for as long as necessary.
Not true in all instances actually. Some have an ingrained interest in doing the best for their punters, and not being on the clock all the time, and that’s why they’re insanely busy. There is more than one way to bill prodigiously.

Nunez is a better stand in than the previous ones like Zinchenko. I’m more worried about the centre backs.

I'm more worried about the high line. You could have Usain Bolt as centre back and he wouldn't be able to turn and catch a speedy forward breaking to a long ball, which will be the go-to tactic this season for every team with at least one speedy forward.

Something that I am sure has been asked, and answered before, but has just occurred to me:

Is there a scenario whereby we we are only found guilty of non co-operation but get stuck with the legal costs?

Did the CAS not fine us the 10 mil for non co-operation on the basis that we could have avoided the hearing by providing the requested evidence to UEFA (not withstanding our reasons for not doing so)?
CAS reduced the UEFA fine of E30M to E10M as, they somewhat agreed with City's complaint that confidential information was being leaked by the investigative chamber. But, as it was evident that City had in-fact not cooperated then they couldn't dismiss the charge altogether. They also noted the amount was based on City being a organization that had substantial financial resources

How would we even get such audio ? Surely they wouldn’t say stuff like that if clubs are allowed audio or allowed staff to watch VAR

Nunez tackles like a midfielder, which is alright at the half way line, giving away a cheap free kick,
But in our penalty box it's not.
Hope he has learnt this
Nunez will never be an elite full back but he improved hugely since his Derby Day disaster and he is good moving forward. He had a really good CWC as well. After the United game I would have driven him to the airport but let's see if he keeps getting better.

We seemed to play deeper in the second half last night when we were 1-0 up so perhaps he has a cunning plan (like Baldrick). We won the treble by being more pragmatic so hopefully we can step up. We will pulverise a lot of teams this season with goals from all angles but in Europe we will have to be more cautious.

Not entirely relevant but that Overlap show on Sky discussing this every week is becoming a bad joke. How the club shrugs shoulders at the mud slinging is a mystery to me.
