Why aren't Newcastle, Villa etc not questioning why the red shirts can spend big money on players, but they can't? I would be extremely fucked off if I was the owner of these clubs.
They are probably frustrated but are playing another game to the fans. Villa are aligned with the Red Top Empire , through their American co owner, so are unlikely to want to rock that boat .
Newcastle have owners that are happy to be the go too dumping ground for disaffected / over the hill surplus to requirements players with their Saudi League and don't want to rile the Red Top Empire who appreciate the chance to offload " stars " at inflated prices. Noone was complaining when City was a new cash cow for the PL . Everyone parted us on the heads and loved the cheeky Mancs. It was only when we started to win ( aka upset pisscan) that we stated getting our backsides slapped with all that propaganda and FFP . Newcastle United winning is less important to the owners than their own league and their pending World Cup . They will be happy for them to win the odd small trophy but not challenge for the big stuff . No negative publicity before the World Cup is the strapline . Keep the Americans on side .
Remember they both have witnessed City's bullish strategy , winning ways and the subsequent enormous propaganda campaign against us and don't relish that . The silence from other clubs after our clear and obvious APT victory is deafening and until the 115 decision no one is going to rock the boat . In fact the 115 slur has been a very effective curb on dissent .The hallmark of authoritarianism.
The PL is like any Empire in history . The core elite , puppet or compliant states and a rebel state that simply keeps winning and is a major thorn in the side . We are the equivalent of Atilla the Hun against the Romans ( and he never got good publicity or garnered allies either). Although it's frustrating when , as currently ,the Red Cartel are winning the media campaign, but we have canny owners and I have no reason to suppose they don't know what they're doing .
Modern football isn't really about football matches . It's geopolitics . None of the owners think like we fans do . They are playing a different game about which we know very little . The recent influx of American owners are the modern equivalent of the East India Company teenagers rushing off to India . An amorphous bunch of investment driven individuals lured by the idea of Fame , fortune and fast money . No regard whatsoever for the host culture , history or people. But don't upset the governor .
