PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I wonder if, in part, the time taken is because the people making the decision know their verdict will be read by many more people than ever before?

The last thing they would want is their verdict being torn apart by their peers. You would want every “i” dotted.
I agree. They are probably taking a very prudent and risk averse approach. There could be an appeal from the PL or City which they'll want to avoid and they could also be subject to further legal action if there is any hint of malpractice or bias.

How the F-ck is it we haven't heard anything about the outcome yet.
It's an embarrassment and must be costing both sides a fortune.
Club found out on Friday mate. You must have missed it. Results out Monday 9am sharp…promise -:)

It’s in here somewhere:

Their decision won’t just be read by more people.
It will impact how the rulers of the UAE are viewed.

Khaldoon is CEO of Mubadala and a negative result would impact on this.
Let’s not forget our sponsors: Etihad and Etisalat and how they would be impacted.

This result isn’t simply Man City V the PL.
there a much bigger and more powerful parties implicated than both the PL and City.

A negative result for city would extend far beyond the realms of football.
My belief is this is partly why it’s taking so long.

I will die a happy man on the front lines of Estonia knowing we fucked over the red cartel.
I'd like to die peacefully in my sleep just like my dad and not go out in pain like all the passengers on his bus.

On the other hand, these people aren't your run-of-the-mill solicitors. Every judgment they have made in the last twenty years will have been watertight. I doubt they are sweating over consequences or taking longer than they would normally.

Imho it's taking longer than everyone thought it would either because it was always going to take this long and no-one had any idea what they were talking about, or something is going on behind the scenes to delay it.

My mind on that, as always, is open. But not at all concerned.

I don’t think there is anything going on behind the scenes. I can’t see why there would be.

I accept that they are prepared for any contingency however unlikely and someone at the club may well have indicated that to you privately but their public pronouncements about our total innocence are utterly emphatic and completely unqualified in that respect since 2023. Our chairman has had his integrity shockingly challenged by the PL and he has put his personal reputation is on the line by repeated public assurances we have done nothing wrong.
I believe him and also believe he has known what the final outcome will be since at least the turn of the year.
The reputational damage to the Chairman cannot be overlooked. In my opinion there's no way he would have been so outspoken about the charges if he had any doubt whatsoever.
