PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

So she will get the boot if they fail even tho it was Richard’s idea to charge us the panel was independent and having a club given a clean bill of health is a good thing

To be fair she is his boss, granted she's just a passive pawn in this but sacking her and her allowing herself to be sacked is probably just part of her job description.

If I've got my timings right, our case was dumped on her the day she started by Masters. It feels like she was set up as a possible scapegoat if it all went wrong for the PL. I'm fairly certain she's proved herself smarter than Masters since and she'll be fine.

Either way a big fat juicy pay off isn't a horrible outcome for her mate.

This isn't correct. There are more likely times and less likely times. It was never possible to be in the first 3-4 months. It was not possible in August. It is not possible in late December. It is more likely now than 6 months ago and less likely in 6 months time.

And to be clear, the timings I have discussed reflect the views of the parties and their senior lawyers as opposed to being made up or riffed.

I know you don't believe it but it is true.

I don’t, and it’s not. It will drop when it’s ready.

That says absolutely cock all that’s relevant.
There's just zero point reading any article about it at this point. In fact, I've said this every time Seb has posted a pointless article about it.

It's just full of "if", "might", "could" etc, and is just an idiot guessing.

Next update worth reading will be the outcome.

The problem is that the rules we've been charged under are very vague and subjective. How do you know when you've done something you believe is legitimate if you've failed to act in good faith?

I'm certain we didn't enter into any arrangement covered by the charges with the intent to deceive or mislead anyone.
  • The Mancini contract wasn't done to hide expenses or otherwise improve our financial reports.
  • The Fordham arrangement was to get revenue in. You could argue it was a dubious arrangement to sell IP to a seemingly connected third-party but Chelsea and others have sold tangible assets to connected parties without problems, so there was nothing intrinsically wrong with it. It wasn't done to hide expenses.
  • We really aren't sure about the sponsorship charges but CAS determined the Etihad sponsorship wasn't disguised equity investment. And if we genuinely believed it (or any other Abu Dhabi-based sponsorship) wasn't a related party then we clearly haven't attempted to deceive anyone by not declaring it as such.
There have been many instances of people believing they've done something "in good faith" where subsequent events have meant they didn't. Tax law is one such area as are the many contract and commercial disputes that have ended up in court.

I agree with this “at the time”.

However, City will have since sat down with a variety of experts and gone through everything with the finest of forensic tooth combs.

It will have since become apparent, despite the vagueness of some of the charges, if there has in fact been a breach of any of the rules. Despite whatever City’s intent might have been at the time.

Posters need to stop thinking there is a “prime” time for an announcement, or there are nice little “windows” where it would be announced.

Anyone claiming it’s more likely at this time than another, or think it’s taking too long, are basing this on nothing other than the time it’s taking is making them feel uncomfortable.

It’ll be announced when it’s ready, not when posters on a football forum think would be best or because the time it’s taking is worrying them.
The problem is a lot of people with obvious justification wonder why its taking so long to be "ready". Maybe the same people are also "uncomfortable" with a country which appears to be falling apart at the seams.

Thought today in London the CE O,s of all the PL were having a meeting to discuss new rules/Laws.Shirley some one will drop a clue.

Haha you can fuck off, let me have my dreams ;)

If we can take anything from any of this with any certainty it's that journalism is dead, they shouldn't even have an education to be taught the way to do journalism right.

It's an embarrassment really.

Might as well state that the results have been held up by inclement weather or a rabid Panda from Scunthorpe broke into the car holding the verdict and ate in all.
Yep,
Delooneys bored during International break so his Editor needs him to justify his vastly overpaid salary, so he writes a article full of nothing, sends a message to the Reach network who use the standard "according to reports" and here we are. I would guess over the next couple of days the MUEN, Birmingham live, Newcastle Chronicle,Liverpool Echo,London Standard etc etc will regurgitate the same shite !
