The question below has bothered me for a while to be honest.

Do some Blues actually think we've only recently started singing this?

us older fans was singing this in the 70s

There was a thread awhile ago asking about best City songs and I put on there that one of my FAVORITE City recollections was being a nipper at a night game at Maine Road singing our version of "Hey Jude!"

I don't know if it was just the song, or that it seemed to reverberate up around the rafters of the Platt Lane End (where is we went before Dad pretended we were rich and got me and sis our North Stand season tickets!), and the smoke from 20,000 cigs wafting in the floodlights along with the nightly drizzle, and the fact that EVERYTHING seems to have been better when we were a kid!

That, Dave Watson's header right in front of me (hardest header EVER!) and Colin Bell's first game back after the injury that eventually ended his career, and his shot that almost went in and which would have made it the perfect day to be Blue.....and the only day I ever cried at a game before the QPR game!

Regardless of the plans to greet the team, it will be great to just see yet another "new and improved" City team and to sing my heart out for the lads....to whatever song the North and South Stands get going for us!

Can't get here soon enough! COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!
