Regarding Russia, i don't see what is wrong with them hosting the World Cup either. You can't say it is not a football nation, it is a huge country, big cities. I really don't even see why there should be an objection about them, bar the rhetoric "Russia/Poutine bad". And, as a matter of fact, it was one of the best World Cups.
That's what happens when you investigate yourself, strangely you find everything is fine.FIFA have already had a thorough 2 year investigation and found no case to answer.

It was a completely, obviously, corrupt process, even moreso than before but they managed to destroy a lot of evidence & scraped through before it could be stopped in Russia.

You must be good to know what i think better than me. Truth is i don't care about Qatar one bit. I just don't like double standard.
What i think about Russia bid is they, of course, bribed like everyone else before and after. However, it is a nation that has been the host decades before till now of some of the biggest sporting (or not) events. Since they are the enemy of the West at the moment, everything they do is demonized and people will search any dirt about them. If people were so invested to search dirt about every other nation/bid, there would be a lot of stuff coming out too. Just look at the double standard : Kosovo who is recognized by several nations of the free world as a state (bar Spain and some other that fear their own independantists/separatists will pull the same stuff on them) and the Crimea who is considered as the proof Russia is evil and ready to take all of Europe over.
How do you know only subtle bribing? Perhaps just not reported exhaustively as is the case here. What’s the difference anyway, big wedge or wrist watch. Who cares, people are being influenced either way.Most World Cups have been a subtle bribing process & the countries awarded them have some argument for winning the bid.

Of course it will happen. It is too far gone for that tournament to be cancelled. Unless a war suddenly breaks in that country, of course.The world cup is going to happen in Qatar. Not only your kids can go watch big players and big games. Kids everywhere should have that chance. I know a lot of kids suffer in this world. But, hopefully, in a zillion years, there will be more justice and less bullying and hypocrisy so that more kids everywhere will have better chances than they are getting now in the era of the current ****ing world neo-colonial order.
