Player that everybody loves but you think is overrated

Bernardo silva.

What does he do?

Don’t assist and don’t score.

Spends too much time drinking coffee and winding up the dippers.

Right. Bear with me. Ronaldinho.

Made me fall in love with the game (alongside the real Ronaldo) while watching 2002 World Cup. But the way he's spoken about is as if he'd done it consistently over his career whereas he was forced out of PSG, had 3/4 good years at Barcelona then was forced out of there too.

Christ, he was linked to us (agent interviews in the media and everything) only 2/3 years after winning the Ballon D'Or before moving to Milan.

At his peak, a beautiful footballer but his peak was too short and the rest is a bit sad really. Wasted talent.

Yep, Rashford. Shockingly one dimensional. Keep a man back near him and he is less than useless.
I think he can run fast and can hit the ball hard and that’s why folk rate him. That’s about it. When Mourinho was manger of Utd and Rashford wasn’t getting a smell in, if Guardiola would have made a sly bid for him, Mourinho and the Glazers would have accepted and Rashford would have improved and been a better player.

Going back a bit, I never understood why the late Ray Wilkins got 84 England caps.
Apparently he was a decent bloke but I never saw him as more than an unspectacular and Ok player.
unspectacular and ok player, perfect for england then

I once read an article about Ray Wilkins. It went something like this. Representatives from AC Milan went to OT to look at Bryan Robson as journalists from all over Europe were raving about him so they flew over to watch him in a match. They went away from that match and a couple of months later signed Ray Wilkins. In other words, he was the one that impressed them. I think the thing is, he was one of those players who got on with what he was doing, didn’t kick up a big fuss, Gareth Barry type.

Your not far wrong there, he was a prime example of the Brazilian footballers mentality back then, easily the best when they were interested but shite when they couldn't be arsed, see messers Robinho and Elano for further reflection.
Takes me back Ronaldinho tho, I remember the transfer thread got to about 200 pages, big news at the time, nowadays a reported interest in a Bolivian u18s wingback reaches 200 pages within a couple of hours
