Barcelona have been linked with some somewhat surprising names upfront for their summer transfer window plans, with Spanish source Sport mentioning Manchester City and Southampton strikers Edin Dzeko and Graziano Pelle as among their candidates in that position.

Neither player has been in particularly strong form of late in the Premier League, with Dzeko managing just four league goals all season long, and Pelle just eight, with only one in his last ten appearances in all competitions.


Still, other unusual targets such as Juventus’ Fernando Llorente and Fiorentina’s Mario Gomez are also on the Catalan giants’ list as they seek a backup option and ‘Plan B’-type player to give them more of an aerial threat.

Barca have a number of small, skillful forwards on their books at the moment in Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, and a player like Dzeko may have his merits in Luis Enrique’s squad if they are in need of varying their style of play.

Yes. It's the fault of City fans that he's seemingly underachieved here, not the fault of the professional footballer. We didn't shout enough for him to kick a ball.
