So? Can we wait two years for Fernando to come good. NO WE CAN'T.

His first performance for us was better than any performance that Garcia managed in his whole time at the club. But that aside, no we cannot wait two years for him to come good, how do you know it will take two years to come good though? He may not prove to be good enough, certainly he isn't playing well enough at the moment but these comparisons to Garcia are bullshit considering he was so bad for so long and this guy has been playing here for half a season.

Lancet you seems to be on a mission to disagree with everyone who has a dif opinion about fernando he is not good enough and won't be tbh....for me instead of bust 12m we could had put another 4-5m and get schniderlin from saints he is also a homegrown and plays the role of holding md very well

Fernando's not good enough for what exactly?

Seems really stupid to me to expect Fernando, a specialist holding midfield player, to be doing Toure/Nasri's job. He wasn't shite yesterday, and he is in a different league to Garcia in terms of his mobility, his defensive ability, his passing range, pretty much everything.

I didn't realise had a passing range, he might prove me wrong and it would be wrong off me to completely write him off but so far i think he is very average and Porto must be laughing their tits off getting £44 million for him and Mangala.

Agree at the moment we would struggle to find anyone to take them off us for €15 mil for the pair. Bloody stupid signings as was the summer window before that was and the summer before that was.

So what you're saying is I'm on a mission to disagree with people about something I don't agree with? I have no idea whether Fernando will ever be good enough, it is the revisionism regarding Garcia's time at the club that is getting on my tits. Of course if we had Schneiderlin that would be great. I think it is unlikely though to be honest.
I think what they are saying which comes across as quite obvious to me is that Garcia was a bad signing and a mistake and we all hoped we had learned our mistake and wouldn't do it again and go out and get a real defensive midfielder but no we seem to have a bought another Def MID who seems just as shit as he was.

Really not seeing what he adds to team to be honest, even if he was in form I still don't think it will be enough.

If he can't play in a 2 man midfield, then we shouldn't be playing him in a 2 man midfield

He never wants the ball, doesn't like taking it off Vinny or Demichelis to help start an attack. We've basically got a player who's sole attribute is to help break up play, and yet we have been done on the counter more this season that any other season

You get what you pay for, he did a good job for Porto in a team that was built up to play on the counter, he broke up play and thats all they asked him to do, yet he is now playing at a higher level and we are expecting him to do the job of a central midfielder, which is something that he is far from

There's a big difference to being Gash/Crap or any other superlative that is used on here to not playing well. Probably the majority on here calling him out were the same calling MDM out when he first arrived.

Give the lad and the others new to the squad time before you cry crap etc.

City scouts saw something in him and I will back their judgement over some on here

Agreed...the knee jerkers out in force and could we have a new favourite boo boy?

Everyone was piss poor yesterday...as for nando he is still finding his feet in the prem

I rate both him and Mangala and think it will be us that will be laughing when they are both up to speed...

Well that might be quite obvious to you. But when people say that Garcia is better than Fernando, I take them to mean that they think Garcia is better than Fernando and not that that they think Fernando seems just as shit as Garcia.

Garcia was poor and we rightly got rid. Fernando is equally as poor so not a good bit of business. Fernandinho has been off the pace this season too and looks nowhere near a £35m player.

Take Yaya out and our midfield is average at best.
