Desperate for any City player to do well, but really struggling with this guy. Watched him closely tonight and realised he never seems to tackle, spends so much time "tracking" his opponent until they pass to a team member who he then runs over to "track" until they pass to somebody else - generally ineffective, no creativity, passes to players who are under pressure too often, slows the tempo down way too much - seriously unless we are away from home to a top 3 team I see absolutely no reason to even consider picking him and based on that he's a wasted squad number

The guy has no concept at all, that a circular type ball will actually move frontwards as well as backwards and fucking sidewards !!!

Octopussy tonight.
Perhaps it takes a low point like this for him to realise he needs to improve drastically. I actually think he bottles it, scared to make mistakes and then inevitably does.

I genuinely think you have to look at the signing policy over the last two seasons, just some absolute shocking signings have been made and money not spent wisely at all, even with FFP restricting us.

Fernandinho was a good purchase albeit not 30m worth, but spending 50m-60m on Garcia, Rodwell, Sinclair, Fernando and Caballero is nothing short of embarrassing.

We could have signed Fabregas and Matic for that, add the to Yaya and Fernandinho and our central midfield positions look incredibly strong.

I am not convinced we needed to spend 30-40m on Mangala when there are plenty of as good if not better defenders available if you scout correctly for half of what he cost.

NO we couldn`t !! Both wanted to sign for Chelsea and didn`t fancy the northwest.

I was meaning it as we could have signed two players of that quality for the money we spent on the players I named.

We haven't spent wisely at all in the last two years, even with FFP.

My wife on hearing me bemoan yet another lazy aimless jog across the middle with no intent said why blame him if the club signs him and manager plays him he doesn't have a choice, not his fault he's out of his depth. Spot on she was, the buck stops with all these poor signings and team selections at Txixi and Manuel's door. He played 90minutes...why???when after 90 seconds he had already looked fucked

Why do people give this man so much stick.

I think it was clearly obvious that Fernandos dark-magic vodoo skills made Messi miss the penaly, when he saw the rebound getting into dangerous territory he reacted perfectly and used his abillity to bend air and earth to steer the ball away from goal.

Instead of being ungrateful, appreciate that txiki got the 2nd coming of christ for 12m

Can`t disagree with those sentiments mate as Fernando and Mangola have been disappointing to say the least.Sorry but for as much as JM is a very good PL player,CL he`s about average, but he aint on his own at the moment.

It's incredible to think that it was only 4 or 5 months ago that some so called "experts" were saying Yaya was holding us back as a team and that Fernando should be starting ahead of him! Wonder if any of them are brave enough to come out and hold their hands up now?

I agree mate.

I just said in the Pellegrini thread that for all the money spent on trying to make us as good as a team like Barca, we are relying on a midfield duo of Milner and Fernando to help get us through to a CL quarter.

I feel sorry for Aguero and Silva because they should be winning this competition.
