Player thread: Gael Clichy (2014/15)

Re: Gael Clichy

Excellent again today, he does seem to be getting a bit of confidence back. He was really up for it, charging into tackles.

Re: Gael Clichy

maybe he's realised the possible arrival of Layvin Kurzawa in January and has to pull his finger out. He's been coasting for the last few years and i'd rather still see a change at left-back.

Re: Gael Clichy

Brilliant performance

It's not just the flashy, attacking players that need a run of games to gain some confidence and form. Left back's the one position that's chopped and changed virtually every game the past 3 years.

Re: Gael Clichy

Fair play.......after a few recent horror shows he has bounced back superbly in the last couple of games.Today he did everything required and more,my MOTM.

Re: Gael Clichy

He is, above all else, a fantastic athlete. Perfectly suited to our defensive policy of coming to the ball, nicking in front of the forwards. His contribution going forward has long been my big criticism of him but he has seemed less indecisive and more direct over the last few games and that's a big improvement.

Agreed. I still think we need to seriously look at improving the left back position next summer though.

A few bad games and he's been coasting for years?
