Player thread: Pablo Zabaleta (2014/15)

Re: Pablo Zabaleta Appreciation Thread

Just seen motd2, and they are spot on. Zab deserved to walk, and he instigated the shit with Costa by grabbing the back of his head. He tried to wind Costa up, and I hate that shit, and don't expect it from ours. His tweet about Costa is bang out of order, and if we're being honest it's the kind of shit we expect from Rags. I wouldn't say Costa grabbed him around the throat, it was a split second thing, and certainly not how it appeared on the picture.

For fuck sake Zab, put the fucking Twitter account away. As a club, we're better than that, and I expect better from you.

Fucking hell mate. Go easy.Yes it was bad tackle, yes it was a bad reaction but perhaps the ref could have just said "One more and your off". Saves ruining what was a fantastic game of football.
I don't care what anyone says we have certainly got our work cut out with the officials this season

Re: Pablo Zabaleta Appreciation Thread

Great player but crazy challenge when already on a yellow

Re: Pablo Zabaleta Appreciation Thread

Deserves to be sent off, still love him but shouldn't have got involved in the winding up tactics when on a yellow. No real harm done at the end of the day as we were headin for a draw anyway I think.

Lamps got zabba out of jail tho as we'd have been in a world of shit 8 pts behind already....5 isn't great but is ok. Don't think character will drop many points this season tho, they rarely give cheap results away like we did against Stoke.

I think the ref booked him for the coming together, but the tackle itself was a yellow - wasn't even a tackle, he just kicked Costa. I'm a bit wound up by Blues trying to blame Costa, or the ref. That's balls, the whole incident was down to Zab, and instead of trying to deflect it by tweeting a nonsense picture, he should just hold his hands up (as he did initially).

As the goat said yesterday mate, the problem wasn't the second card. The problem was the first card for his first challenge. Booked immediately always puts them at risk. Yet Fabregas constantly got away with snidey little tackles which warranted cards. I think he was booked but that's beside the point. It has to be consistent across the board otherwise it really does get people questioning

From where I was sat right in line, at that speed it looked a booking to me the first one. Even if it shouldn't have been, when you are on a booking like he was, you don't do that. It wasn't his finest moment.

Re: Pablo Zabaleta Appreciation Thread

Just watched some of the Tunnel Cam - jeez, even before the warm ups he looks like he was up for fighting the whole Chelsea team - looks really wound up.

Lamps got US out of jail - lack of goals in first half nothing to do with Zab. Ok he was too wound up about the match but I'd prefer that than contained passion. Another example of fans jumping on our players unnecessarily. It's not as if he makes a habit of it
