Player thread: Pablo Zabaleta (2014/15)

Re: Pablo Zabaleta Appreciation Thread

Sagna is very good, he just isn't as good as Zabaleta - who's right up there with the top right backs in the world.

Agree Sagna looked good defensively v Bayern. Zaba is still the main man at right back though.

Sagna has looked a very solid defender in all the games he has played. He also has been potent going forward in his Arsenal days, so once he has a few more games in his system, he will pick it up there also. Great backup to Zaba IMHO.

Whilst Sagna might have looked good defensively, I cant help but remember a number of crosses that he didnt stop getting into the box. A cardinal sin for a defender IMHO. Hopefully, he'll grow into the team but at the moment he's a long way from Zabba.

Firstly, most right backs in the world are a long way from Zabba (who is world's best IMO). Secondly, if you found someone close to Zabba, they are not going to want to sit on the bench for all the big games.

Sagna is new to our system so will adapt over time. He's a notable upgrade over Micah (sadly) which was the main objective

Re: Pablo Zabaleta Appreciation Thread

i am happy that Zabaleta is getting the recognition from universally everyone . was reading JAMIE CARRAGHER and then Harry Redknapp XI of the modern premier league era...and he was there in both.

he along with Kompany will easily go as the greatest bargain buys for city !

4 current City players in Carragher's best ever foreign 11 to play in the Prem and 2 former ones.
