Player Thread: Patrick Roberts

Watching this with a cold beer watching the sun go down in Cinque Terre.

As an Aussie, also interested to see if Tommy Rogic gets a run. He was linked with Arsenal earlier this season, but surely that was wishful thinking...

He's struggling quite a bit defensivly and lost his man a couple of times. He looks good on the ball but hasn't had much of it as it seems Celtic prefers attacking down their left side (probably because Mahrez is even worse than Roberts defensivly and Albrighton is doing a great job on Celtics right side).

You're a bastard for that. Sounds lovely right now.

My one holiday for the year, got to make the most of it! ;)

Would send a photo, but the wifi here is a bit woeful.

Roberts has looked good.

Also interesting to note that in Schmeichel and Zieler, both of Leicester's keepers have come from our academy? So much for ruining youth players and all that...

IIRC Zieler is from Uniteds academy. Loris Karius that Liverpool signed is from ours though.

Thought he done alright, beat his marker on a couple of occasions. The problem is that he's playing for Celtic, very little movement in front of him, nobody offering a decent option so he has to cut inside or turn back to keep the ball. Still needs to work on his end product, a couple of times he could have picked his head up and played a pass instead of attempting a potshot at goal. Likewise a couple of Celtic players need to pick their head up and get the ball to him sooner before he is man-marked like he was in this game.

Still on loan to Celtic. However, given how persistent Rogers has been in his pursuit of Scott Sinclair from Villa- three bids already- perhaps there is a chance that Roberts could return prematurely. Only a slight possibility, granted, but I cannot see Celtic forking out and then having Roberts play ahead of him. Wishful thinking on my part?
