bingo.

plus he was our best player in the last 5 games.
Everyone knows I'm mancini's biggest critic but this 'Mancini hindered him' excuse is laughable. Mancini showed massive favouritism towards him for 18 months, picking him in attacking roles when he didn't deserve it, week after week. Mancini didn't instruct him to be cautious and negative. That's just how he plays most weeks.

I happen to think Mancini impacted negatively on Nasri in more ways than one. He's at his best when he's played in a more central role, and when he's allowed to play with some freedom. Also, I think he's a real confidence player who needs to feel loved to produce his best form. Did he feeled loved by his manager? I think not. Pellegrini will surprise a few on here by making Nasri a pivotal member of the team, and we'll see a totally different player next season imo.
I do agree that I sense that nasri is a confidence player, and hence probably a player who needs am 'arm around the shoulder' to produce his best.

how was that goal Hart's fault?

It was partly Hart's fault. It was mostly clichy's fault in my opinion.
the ball took a deflection right onto the post, and Hart sill got close to it. If Nasri stands still, it hits him,

I meant in the lead up to the free kick. Hart
Could and should have done better. Clichy even more so.

Re: Samir Nasri is NOT useless

The interview he gave to the Times a few months back was a real eye-opener and from then on I can't remember a poor performance from him. He also works a lot harder than people give him credit for.

This coming season he'll have more competition than ever, and he'll step up to the plate.

Re: Samir Nasri is NOT useless

He is a smashing player on his day but could do more to impose himself on games and take a few risks.Unfortunately ducking outta the way of the ball when in a wall is a sure fire way to lose some of your support and it can be hard to garner that back. This is a big season for him and I hope he performs,he seems a decent character and I wish him well.

You're fighting a losing battle mate. He isn't a 'shithouse' and everyone here knows it. But people need a scapegoat and because Nasri did ONE thing in a high profile match, he is that scapegoat. He's an asset to the team who will have a big season. It could be argued he had a better season than Dave last year.

He's also only had a handful of good games for the club each season and that's the real issue. If he had played great the last 2 years the chicken move vs the rags would have been forgotten. To claim he's being scapegoated makes me think you don't really understand the definition of the word. In modern usage a scapegoat is an individual, group, or country singled out for unmerited negative treatment or blame. He's hardly recieving unmerited negative treatment. The treatment has been merited. He cost us a draw vs the rags. He's underperformed 80% of his time with us.

That kind of proves I do know the definition. He has been afforded all kinds of abuse, when there are players much more deserving of it. Do you agree that people give special treatment to some players?

But how has he not deserved critisism? He's been poor 80% of the time. He's a 25m player who's performed like a 5m player.

Could you point out where I said he hasn't deserved criticism? 'Scapegoating' is defined as 'the practice of singling out any party for unmerited negative treatment or blame as a scapegoat'. I think that describes Nasri's position perfectly. I have no favouritism towards Samir, nor Silva. I am stating that Nasri receives an exaggerated amount because people need somebody to blame. You didn't answer my question either: do you think some players receive special treatment from fans?

Have a look on this forum you will see the majority of our players have got stick at one point or another justified or not.Football fans are fickle creatures.

Re: Samir Nasri is NOT useless

The OP is Correct. Nasri is not useless. He is mostly useless.
He has only played well when it has counted TWICE - City v Chelsea PL (2012) and City v Chelsea FA Cup Semi (2013). He has played like a drain on many, many ,many other occasions the worst being the last Home derby by not wanting to put his body at risk by getting in the way of an RVP free kick. Worse he regularly retaliates and gets himself needlessly booked.

All the skill in the world but pretty close to ZERO application.
Verdict: Replace with someone who actually does give a sh*t ASAP.

Re: Samir Nasri is NOT useless

It will be nice if Monaco or PSG show some interest to Nasri.
