Re: Samir Nasri

I think the number of games is catching up with him somewhat. Didn't help that we played with Clichy who is more than fine defensively but offers little going forward. On the right, we had Navas, Zabaleta, and often Silva making runs. On the right we had Nasri who drifts centrally like Silva does and a fullback who doesn't want to go forward.

Re: Samir Nasri

Silva is flourishing in a more central role and gaining the plaudits from the fans and media, this could mean that Nasri has seen his arse a little being pushed out wide and not playing his natural game. He certaintly has't been playing to his early season high standards .

Re: Samir Nasri

Nasri was quiet at Arsenal. If the constant boing by their plastics had anything to do with it I don't know. One should think he's used to it by now, however their plastics seem to never be able to get over it. However he didn't have a bad game. Just wish he could have done more and silence their plastics.

Nasri will never be a player that wins you the league over the season. To me Nasri seems more comfortable with Kolarov in his back, and he has his better games when Silva is not around. Something for Pellegrini to look at imo.

Re: Samir Nasri

He has regressed in recent games as far as I can see.

He looks heavy and I do think the Arsenal weak mentality is still there?

Been great, no doubt, but we can't afford any passengers either physically or mentally in these last few weeks.

Perhaps the injury at Newcastle spooked him and he has pulled back on the throttle with the World Cup in mind.

He has to be careful, as he's no shoe-in for France.

Would keep him on the bench at Anfield and put Milner in.

Re: Samir Nasri

Samir Nasri has admitted he is "more pessimistic than optimistic" about going to the World Cup.

The Manchester City midfielder revealed coach Didier Deschamps has refused to explain why he was left out of the last two France squads.

But Nasri, who was also overlooked in 2010, insisted he should only miss out on Brazil because of his on-field performances.

The Frenchman was banned for three games after his behaviour at Euro 2012 - and has not been selected since the first-leg defeat in the World Cup playoff in Ukraine in November.

"For the moment, I'm more pessimistic than optimistic about the World Cup," he told Canal+.

"Against Netherlands (the last friendly), it was the last squad before the 30 are announced, and I haven't had an explanation.

"I remain circumspect, because I have never had a problem with anyone in the squad. I have asked to speak to the national team coach.

"For the moment, he hasn't accepted. When I'll have had that discussion, I'll know what is being held against me and what my problem is. I will respect his decision whatever."

Nasri has a strained relationship with the French press and one report claimed a delegation of players, including captain Hugh Lloris, demanded he was dropped after the Ukraine game.

But the former Marseille and Arsenal star insisted he is not a disruptive influence.

"In 2010, for the biggest scandal of the French national team, I wasn't there," Nasri said. "Yes, I have my way of behaving, but that's the way it is.

"If things aren't going well with the French national team, I can only see it's because of one thing, and that's that I perhaps wasn't up to scratch with my performances. All that about my behaviour isn't true.

"I've played in three different clubs and I've never had a problem with anyone. I concede that I wasn't up to scratch in certain games, notably against Ukraine. I didn't play well, but there were 11 of us on the pitch. All 11, we didn't play well."

Playing extremely poorly since his injury. A concern. Both he and navas were poor at arsenal.

Since his injury??? He was man of the match in our cup win. He was the only player who gave f*ck all against Wigan in FA cup and scored. Assist against Fulham and assist against United. That's all in the month of March!

People are so prone to exaggeration. He did not do damage at Arsenal, but even then was far from being "extremely poor". And it's no secret that when he's forced out on the wing, he doesn't do well, just like Silva wouldn't. Neither are wingers, and I don't know why we would all of a sudden be taking freedom away from Nasri when he has played well all year.

2 assists against manyoo, the inadvertent one when his shot rebounded off the post to Dzeko and he took the corner that Dzeko scored the 2nd from. Useless **** ;)
