deserved MOTM today ...two great goals and his all around play was very good.....his revival started under RM and has continued apace under MP

well done samir!

Mancini had nothing to do with it

his preformances picked up un the last 6-8 games of last season...this was while RM was manager...whether it is up to him or MP or most likely a bit of both and however most probably down to the player himself (if you read a recent interview with him) i dont really care but facts are his performances started to improve last season so its not new to this season...the lad has always had capability and there were too many on here slagging him off endlessly prior to this. Like any player, he had a bad patch (see Hart, and Clichy recently).......my point is that some of our fans are way too quick to jump on players when they have a down turn in performace levels

Re: Samir Nasri

nasri's problem was that silva was playing in his preferred position. now that silva is injured, nasri can shine. he's been one of the best players in the league this season. his 90% passing accuracy is incredibly high for a winger/attacking midfielder.

I agree. He was also at the top of his game at Arsenal before RM signed him so id say its Mancini that couldnt get the best out of him. He certainly had an adverse effect on Nasri's performances for the most part

I can't link what i've posted below but clearly remember Venga spouting it, so apathetic was sammi last season i presumed Venga had sold us a ringer but in hindsight it looks like he might know a little bit more than me....and perhaps some on here...

Yes Klaus, Wenger says that in the future Nasri will be playing in front of ... devant la défense" = later, will play before (ie in front of) the defence.

Re: Samir Nasri

I'd love to see the stats. I his workrate has improved by a mile. Seems to be playing more direct as well.

or if you listen to what the player himself has said recently it was more down to what happened witht he french national team and that incident with the reporter that got to him......yes he clashed with mancini BUT the main problem was what i mentioned above,,,,and that is form the players mouth

Watching Samir in that interview sitting next to Pellers, I began to feel something like love for him (no, I'm not gay, if you want to know…) Something that most City fans won't be aware of, but I'll tell you. LIving as I do in France, I read the Equipe most days. Now the Equipe is a daily newspaper entirely devoted to sports. They've got the same sort of thing in Spain and Italy. Without exaggeration, after his performance in the Euro and that spat with the journalist (who was well out of order, by the way), the Equipe basically started a single-handed crucifixion campaign against Sami. Week after week, month after month, they slagged him off. It really wound me up in the end. It's what they do. They just pick on someone, and decide to lay into him. It's just great to see him answering back in the best way possible - out on the pitch. Player of the month for my money, even over Sergio. For moral support of the man.

Out of interest, has L'Equipe changed its tune now?
