It's still hard to believe how well Samir has played this season. His return from injury is perfectly timed, and judging by his post-match interview he is going to be well and truly pumped up for the Barca game. I also think the added bonus is that Yaya lifts when Samir is on the pitch. They seem to be very good friends.

I think the combination of him, Merlin and Jovetic (with probably Alvaro as the spearhead) are going to create merry hell for the Barca defence.

Welcome back Samir. Keep on playing with a smile on your face!

The team spirit through the whole squad seem to be fantastic. No moaning about not starting etc. Everyone of them fighting for the shirt, most getting game time, all wanting to be part of whatever this season is going to offer.
As bad as all our injuries have been this season, they've certainly helped everyone to get quite a bit of game time. I obviously don't know what Pellegrini would have done had everyone been fit, but even for the best man-manager, it's hard not to play your 'best' team most of the time if you have the option, and that necessarily leads to some level of dissatisfaction within a squad.

This

But another telling thing is that even on the now rare occasions when they're fit, neither Richards nor Rodwell don't seem to get much game time. I think the writing is on the wall for both players and the only saving grace they have going for them is that they help fulfill our English home grown quota.

I've been thinking this for quite some time. You can really see who the manager has faith in by his team selections. He clearly rates squad players like Milner, Garcia, and Lescott even if he doesn't play them every game of every week. I'd add Boyata to the list of nearly men as he's been fit for months and not had a game since Nov/Dec.

Re: Samir Nasri

I was one of Nasri's biggest critics last season and moaned about him a lot both on here and generally with over beers with my mates.
He has rammed humble pie right up my grinner this season and I love him for it.. Outstanding this season and scares the shit out of any defence he plays against, Barcelona will be no exception, I fully expect him to be man of the match in a hard fought City victory tonight.
