Player thread: Samir Nasri (2014/15)

He looks a world beater on occasion but those occasions are too sporadic. Maybe different management could get the best out of him more often. With whatever the hierarchy eventually decide as far as management is concerned with this uncertain season so far, perhaps his future at City should be in the pending tray. He has the gifts, he has potential but must prove it next season and realise it.

One of 3 or 4 stories earlier in the week about Nasri's bust up during the Leicester Game:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/samir-nasri-involved-furious-manchester-9000740" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... er-9000740</a>?
Samir Nasri could head an exodus at Manchester City this summer after an alleged fallout.
According to reports the French playmaker reacted furiously to being dropped for last month’s victory against Leicester.
The 27-year-old hasn’t started a Premier League game since then - and lasted just 45 minutes of the Champions League defeat against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.
The Mirror claims Nasri could now be used as bait in City’s attempts to sign Paul Pogba.
The Juventus midfielder is one of a host of star names on the Premier League champions’ wanted list this summer.
Manuel Pellegrini says City need to sign a ‘crack’ player - and confirmed over the weekend that they will enter the transfer market in a bid to overtake Chelsea next season.
Edin Dzeko could also be used in part exchange for Pogba, who is expected to command a fee in the region of £60m if he leaves the Serie A giants.
City are not alone in targeting the former Manchester United academy player.
Real Madrid are understood to be leading the chase for the 22-year-old, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain and Chelsea also interested.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has previously claimed his client could command a world record fee when he leaves Turin.
It is believed that a figure closer to £60m would be enough to tempt Juve to sell, even though the player is said to be settled.
Raiola said: “If I just whistled, I’d sell Pogba tomorrow to PSG or City in a heartbeat.”
As well as Nasri and Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov is another player who could head for the Etihad exit, while Frank Lampard will join New York City FC at the end of the season.

My biggest issue with Nasri, is that he often talks a very good game, but he rarely performs, before the Barcelona game he gave a big bravado performance to the media, and then backed it up with two shambolic performances. I think it could be wise to use him to lure Pogba, especially if we're after De Bruyne.

Nasri is better than both of them.

When he can be arsed, which is rare.

Nasri is not better than Pogba, arsed or not. That's just silly wishful thinking. They play for the same country. Ask anyone French who is better. 99.99% will pick Pogba. The.1 will be Nasri and his girlfriend.

Nasri doesnt do it enough in the big games , he scored vital goals against roma and sunderland in the cup final , but when we play the top 5 in the premiership or barca, bayern, madrid he is invisible , hes a good squad player , but not a starter against the top teams.
