Try him out as a CDM per the above posts, doesn't need to be benched, he's still the captain of this team.
If Vinnie is the true professional with the club's fortunes uppermost, and he has recognised that he is going through a bad time he should knock on MPs door and ask to be moved from the back 4 - as lots of people are suggesting to the central midfield. His confidence could return with a rush if he doesn't have the pressure of being one of the last line of defence.Sergi0 Na5r1 said:Try him out as a CDM per the above posts, doesn't need to be benched, he's still the captain of this team.
Already seen that and it's decent becaue neither of them feel the need to be a one man defense.de niro said:partner mangala and martin and see how they do.

How can our defence gain confidence when they are in and out of the team every week, no top team rotates their defence like we do.
I also think Pellegrini's insistence on playing 4-4-2 with two very poor midfield players in regards to positional sense hasn't helped, there has been at times zero protection in some games and the likes of Vinny are having to step into midfield to compensate and attempt interceptions, yet because of the lack of confidence mistakes are occurring like we saw from Vinny against Liverpool and Barcelona for example.

My thoughts exactly......Vinny's demise is being hugely exaggerated, unfortunately he is suffering due to the lack of protection in front of him,he gets himself pulled out of position in an attempt to rectify our midfield deficiencies and our shape then goes out the window.
The second half against the Dippers he was more disciplined in his approach and he wasn't spreading himself too thinly......and while the rest of the team didn't have a great 45mins,i thought Vinny looked much better.
He's still amongst the very best make no mistake.
