Yes an upgrade is needed, but like fuck is he nearly as bad as some on here suggest.
 
Criticise all you like, this guy's been integral to our attacking style/capability over the last few seasons. Granted he's not faultless but he's a proper blue.
 
Not many will admit to it because most have designated him as one of the boo boys and refuse to change their mind regardless of his performances but he's been one of our standout performers this season. Not many better or more consistent than Kolarov and he's been forced to play virtually every game, hardly ever gets injured and never stops bombing on down the wing, as the song says "he runs down the wing all day"

You needed to be a decent player to get in the rags starting line up in those days, however much we dislike them!

What, 5/6 years ago when he averaged 16 games worth of playing time for them a season but won 4 domestic honours?

Looking at a players honours list is too black and white, especially when they're then labelled a "top fucking player" because of it. Adam Johnson is just missing the league cup, is he merely a top player then?

I never called him a top player? The exact opposite actually, my point was that honours lists are too black and white hence John O'Shea being wank but a trophy cabinet most would die for. So saying "He's a top fucking player, he's won all the domestic trophies" doesn't always tell the whole story, does it.
