Sagna had practically a whole year off last year, so it's time for him to lay down a marker and really fight for the jersey. I'd presume he'll start for the first few games, if Zabaleta and the other Argentines are given extra recovery time, and with the Euros in France next summer, he has every incentive to push for more starts.

I think he did well at times, he's a very very good full back, who just like all players need a consistent run of games in order to showcase their talent. With Zaba needing a rest I hope he gets a run in the side at the start of the year and shows us all what he can do.

He has an incentive but not the ability, I can't think of one time he contributed in the opposition half last season, and for a team whose fullbacks are quite an integral part of our attacking play its just not good enough.

His crossing in the final third was meant to be one of his strong points too.

If we sign the players we are reputedly chasing, it may well be that the onus on the full-backs switches to defending more than attacking, and allowing the attackers free rein. Just think we can get more out of Sagna than we have to date.

Possibly, but I just want rid of him, he's not the future and his best days are well behind him.
