"Raheem Sterling is England's David Silva" - Jamie Redknapp.
LOL...Sterling got a long way to go before he can step on Silva's shoes.

Especially after last night's performance. His control was woeful. Sterling that is.
Where as Silva glided round the pitch, with 2 assists and a goal.
Most rags (Jack74 apart) appreciate our Dave, although fucking hate him in equal measure.
This due to not being able to get anywhere near him, when we play.

When he plays we play. The one I fear an injury to more than any other.

I concur

Think Barca , Real made a big mistake not taking him, their loss our gain best footballer I have ever seen at City

I've been nervous about those two ever since he signed for us. So far so good with the new contract.
Real and Barca tried to sign him in 2010, he has said previously in some radio interview that he rejected them. Because City wanted him the most.

Re: David 'Merlin' Silva appreciation thread

Greatest player to wear the blue shirt IMO.the way he dominates midfields with the size of him is beyond belief

Re: David 'Merlin' Silva appreciation thread

I think that Silva is unfortunately held in lower regard than he should have, possibly because for Spain he wasn't a regular whilst Xavi and Iniesta were running the show when they won the World Cup and Euros. He was in and out of the side but had he appeared more regularly I think he would be better regarded. The fact he plays for City also takes away some of his star factor. He is the best player to ever play for City. I know people will talk about Bell, but Silva is so gifted and I don't think Bell could pick a pass like our Dave can. He's also scored a fair few goals for Spain now and if he adds more to his game with City, will be our greatest ever player once he retires. How many times has he just dazzled us with his instant control and ability. That pass to Dzeko at the swamp, the turn on a sixpence and through ball to Negredo against Barca - even the goal away at Blackpool in his first season with us. He's pure class. A quiet professional who just goes out and performs, particularly in the big games. Good to see him on form, we will need him in the next two! If he is on form and Aguero is on the pitch we will score goals.

Re: David 'Merlin' Silva appreciation thread

In yesterday's game he was through on goal and almost one on one with the keeper around the 70 min mark and instead of shooting he passes it backwards, his reaction after he realises the blunder was so funny, hehe.Once he is in a shooting position it is as if he doesn't know what to do,really baffling for a player of his calibre and technicality, just wish he would improve on it.

Re: David 'Merlin' Silva appreciation thread

If Merlin could only score regularly he'd be up there with Bell and perhaps beyond. A handful more games like the Hull and Liverpool away games last season and he'd be there, no question.
I'm always a bit worried when he plays brilliantly on the international stage. It's a bit like letting the neighbourhood burglars know that you've got some priceless antique jewelry in your house. I don't want anyone coming after him. Truly not.

Even without blue glass it is idiot to compare with Silva based on with just one assist .Jamie is a c*unt
