Best finishers in the Premier League this season (excluding penalties):

1st: Frank Lampard 45.45%
2nd: Papiss Cisse 40%
3rd: David Silva 35.29%

Interestingly, Fat Frank and Cisse are 1st and 2nd in Europe also, Dave's about 6th or 7th. Should really shoot more.

I think the reason why he is so high is because he doesn't shoot often. He waits for the opportune moment as he knows his shooting isn't necessarily that good. He's an extremely clever footballer.

Nowt wrong with his shooting; is it a confidence thing with him? Or, as some have said on here before, maybe he prefers setting up goals rather than scoring them. For a man of his undoubted talent (see above), he should get more goals than he does. It's his one "weakness".

Not saying there's anything wrong with his shooting, just that those stats are skewed because he only really shoots in totally clear-cut chances.

And yeah, I agree with what you're saying about preferring to set-up others: when you're supplying someone as clinical as Aguero you're going to give the ball to him as much as possible.

Forgive me, but I'll take Silva's approach every time thanks. Player should only shoot in 'total clear cut' occasions.
That's why when we score four goals from four shots like at Sunderland we win the game. I think it was Guardiola that insisted that shooting from distance was 9/10 giving possession away.
But what does he know?

He came on and completely changed the game. For those who haven't seen it, look out on MOTD for his movement and pass for the equaliser. Outstanding.

An incredible talent, that while he is rated very highly by many blues now, I think it will be in 10 years time when he has left that we'll truly recognise what a special player we had on our hands. Quite simply the most talented and intelligent footballer I have ever seen play in the flesh.
