I think that was media bollocks. This is the first summer in forever he has not had international football so I want him nicely rested up and come back energised and ready to win us trophies again.

Probably because we don't have as much possession like we do in the PL

I have thought about this a lot - and it's not true. He has performed against Bayern. The issue is Barca - and the reason is we are (pending transfers) not very good at keeping the ball against them. Therefore he does't get the ball often enough to threaten and we end up trying to play counter attack football against them and we don't have the dangerous players with pace that he could pick out with a pass.

Are you kidding? His performance at home against Barca (first time round) was sublime. He looked just about the only one of our team who wouldn't be out of place in their side. I'd almost go as far as saying it was his best game in a City shirt.

Excellent post, hopefully Pogba, De Bruyne and Sterling especially will see Silva step up another level if that's even possible. I know we'll lose some of our ability to retain possession without Yaya and Nasri but the counter attacking potential in big games could frighten the European big boys into playing counter attacking against us. Silva is the glue that will bring all that talent together. I know Aguero is a once in a lifetime striker but Silva is side by side with him in terms of talent even though he doesn't get the headlines. Absolute genius of a player.
