David is 30 tomorrow. Some on here have as much football knowledge as a 3 year old.

Few bad games by any of our most treasured players and people soon get on their back.

EDIT: David was easily our best player in both ties against Barca(arguably the hardest team to play) a couple of seasons ago.

Mate, he goes walkies to often..people were actually having a pop at Sagna last night on here and at the ground when he was clearly left exposed when kdb went for a walk leaving him with Baines and the other lad everytime...i am honestly really looking forward to seeing where him and dave will be accomodated, if at all.

To fit both in I think it would involve a 3 at the back formation, similar to what Pep does at Bayern, leaving 6 in midfield (2 wingers/wingbacks, 2 number 10's and 2 holding) and Aguero up top.

Yip, he is a number 10 and a number 10 only..in which case there is an immediate dilemma as imo again, that is the only position for KDB...its gonna be interesting for sure.

Silva started wide, and has probably played more wide than in the middle over his career. So what's this nonsense he can only play in the middle. He can play anywhere in attacking mid. He is a roving wide player, has always been. He is just off form right now, has nowt to do with where he is playing.

To maximize our effectiveness, I'd rather he starts left and DeBryune in the middle.

False. Joe was our best player away, David was inconsequential in that game. And at home, I really don't remember David being a standout either. I mostly remember being annoyed we let Suarez score.

Oh sorry. Yeah he was special that year. Truth is Dave is getting up their in age. Perhaps his decline has begun. He is a great player so he'd probably be very good for 2-3 more years, but it might be time we start looking for his eventual replacement ( as in in clout) whether that's DeBryune or hopefully Isco. Time to bring in the replacements for our aging stars. You can add Yaya, Dihno, Komps and Zab to that list. We are not nearing the end of the 1st Era of Adug. Time to start the 2nd.

On a side note: Loved watching how Barca press and defend. So intelligent and organized. It's a thing of beauty.

But.....Anyone get the feeling their is going to be a sad adios at the end of the season? Silva may be struggling from injury, but something does not seem right with him, something far deeper.

I hope he gets to work with Pep and end's his career with us, but I am starting to worry that David Silva may be an early casualty of the new regime.

He would be the first to admit that he is going through a real bad patch for us when he has stepped out for us this season in the majority of games he has played.

Lets hope he steps up to what we know he can in the remaining games this season at least.

I respect your opinion, I realise to get world class players we need to make room but IMO Silva is "at the next level" we need to reach. Surely his talent and style is exactly what PG would want?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Silva use to play as a winger for us? If so, then there's no reason for him to play on the left and have KDB in the middle. That's the most effective positioning for our team to function the best I think.

Yes, there is room for sentiment. its part of what football is about. There's certainly room for sentiment when it comes to the likes of David Silva.
There are people on this forum who wouldn't have the first clue on what it is to support City.
