It is his second season, but he's not had many solid and consistent runs in the team, and when he has, he has shown some good form.

I still don't even think Otamendi is that good with the ball. He is ok, he is better than Mangala but he is a millions miles away from what somebody like Pep will want.
If you think ottamendi passing isnt good enough i wonder how managala will cope?

I will have to disagree with you there mate. If Leicester had been a little more expansive then we would have given them a tonking imo. Ranieri got his tactics perfect and if Vardy had taken that chance when given the opportunity then people would have been calling it a tactical masterclass.

Will leave it there mate as I do not want to derail the Mangala talk, who I thought had a very good game last night. Mangala takes a lot of stick and he has made some howlers. He is not being helped though by the manager. The manager does not seem to understand the principal of a settled defence. Komany's injuries have not helped but the manager changes full backs for no apparent reason and it does not benefit anyone. One thing has resonated throughout our managers tenure at the club in the fact that inconsistent selection of the defence has equalled inconsistent performances on the pitch, with Joe at Spurs being the prime example. Mangala is also not helped by the lack of protection in front of him and by Kolarov thinking hes an outside half. I was critical of Mangala after the Arsenal game but on reflection he is often hung out to dry by our formation and tactics.
Nigel pearson was doing the same with a weaker Leicester last season. Pardew doing similar at palace. Phil Brown did it for a period at Hull.

When you have a group of players that are flying it can go on an on until they stumble and then the manager comes into his own. I don't think Pardew, Brown or ranieri are especially good managers.

I think ranieri got it entirely wrong yesterday because he surrendered the possession to City and did not put any pressure on a defence that has been very nervous allowing Otamendi and Mangala a much easier game than they might have expected. What they did they did very well though. If Leicester don't take 3 points from the next game, self doubt will creep in.

Agree with that that he got it wrong and changed their style.

Tiny mistakes? Those mistakes can cost us games
No the tiny mistakes don't cost us games as every single footballer on the planet makes at least 1 mistake in a game which doesn't effect the game in anyway but no one bats an eye lid yet if mangala makes one (not a costly one) everyone's moaning about his price etc...when I say tiny mistake I don't mean him playing someone onside or him giving the ball away in our own area and them scoring etc.. I mean the mistakes every player makes in most games that doesn't effect the game in anyway.

However you describe their manner of play, they are, without doubt, the form team of the premier league and have been for all of the season.Until quite recently, Stoke were in the bottom four.leicester,s strikers have caused opposing defenders all sorts of problems all season thus far, the main one being they keep scoring goals past them and outwitting their defensive tactics to do so..there is in fact no tougher opponent than Leicester, this season, so far.
That is not a mystery,Miss Marple is not required.
Show respect where it is due.

+ 1. Some pretty arrogant comments about Leicester on this forum since last night, tbh.

He won't. But I still don't think there's a huge difference between them on the ball. Mangala looks more unorthadox but I don't think neither are great with the ball.
I think otamendi is good enough on the ball and is a good enough defender who is a little rash at times but that can be improved. He really just needs a better defender than mangala or mdm next to him

Gonna get it in the neck here but i think the players between them can have a sound defense for us.
They just need more drilling and in Mangala's case a bit of extra training, there is a good player in him somewhere.

Sagna and mangler are doing extra training on there own working on his positioning etc

Sagna is just about a good a coach as he can ask for, been there and done it for years at the top level with no fuss.
Drilling him talking in French will maybe get some stuff across quicker possibly, especially as it is 121.
