Positionally he is completely inept, can't read the game or even the flight of the ball. Problem is the backup is MDM who is positionally good but no longer has the legs to cover any space.

But kept Vardy/Mahrez/Ighalo/Deeney at bay over 180 minutes of football. When we add more strikers to the list and go on a good run I shall return to this thread at the 150 page section and do some quoting!

Always supported him to come good but must admit yesterday his positioning was poor. Be interesting to see what happens in the summer if Pep comes in. Whether he gets a chance or is shipped out. Rumours are Laporte will be brought in. It will also be interesting to see if Denayer is brought back into the squad. As for Mangala we wait and see.

Leicester was the best game he has played since the kompany partnership was broken up, but he was playing against vardy on his own and that's not how Leicester usually play.
Must have watched a different game to you yesterday then mate, he was awful. Personally I don't think he's finished, but the way we play which relies on positioning at the back, ability to play the ball out, read the ball in the air, all of those things he doesn't have. I've said to others that I think he is a pep type defender funnily enough, he reminds me of boateng when he played for us and look at him now.

Money we paid for this guy is unbelievable!!

This is the nearest comment to what I think about him. As yet, he doesn't seem to have the attributes to be a top player but regardless of that I can't believe what we paid for him. I do think there is a good defender in there.

As for the herberts who are using terms like carthorse or the worst in 30 years then they just embarrass themselves.

Think is way behind Otamendi now in the pecking order, he is rash which i said when we signed him. But if he can work on his positional play, work on his decision making and stop rushing for balls he is unlikely to win he has everything needed to be great, I would actually like him to be giving a run out at left back at the next pre season he is quick, strong and has a very decent passing range, plus i think it is a position better suited to his mental maybe DM as well?

Def mid he'd give to many free kicks away

Pellegrini doesn't help any of our CBs but you'd still expect Mangala to be much, much better.

Denayer will come back, we'll sign a new CB and he'll be gone in the summer ...unless something miraculous happens to him

Don't understand why people are claiming that he kept Ighalo quiet just because he didn't score. Ighalo bullied him and Otamendi all game - won the corner off mangala for the goal, missed a one on one, held it up and won fouls..

Mangala was as bad as ever yesterday. He's just not good enough.

Don't you mean fouled him to win a corner? Not the only time he pushed him and got away with it in the game either.
