Yesterday was on par with some of Savic's performances. It was awful. We need Vinny and Otamendi back ASAP.

Mangala just needs someone steady along side him. He's got potential but is still young and learning. Put him with Vinny or Ota with some midfield cover and he'll be fine. Playing him with MDM, with an overrun static midfield duo of Yaya and Nando is never going to work.

Total gash on Saturday but as others have said he was hung out to dry.

It was the first time the Mangala/MDM pairing has been on the losing side in the league. The previous league games they started together we've won 11 and drawn 3. Not conceded many goals in those games as well. Then there was Roma away in the CL as well.

Kompany/Ottamendi are clearly the best pairing but apart from the home game against Norwich they've always had a 3 of Fern/Fern/Yaya in front of them including against bottom of the league Villa ffs. And then against Liverpool of all teams he plays Mang/MDM with just 2 in front.

Apparently yes. BUT, I recently watched the highlights of the title winning game v QPR and tbh, the defending in the 2nd half was as bad as anything I've seen from us in recent seasons.

Albeit we had Lescott as CB, the one major difference I noticed was the lack of our defence moving in unison which is one of the major pluses that MP has brought with him. Granted it wasn't in much evidence on Saturday but we've all seen it and the players generally have it down to a tee. BUT when the defence has no protection like Saturday, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference what the defence do well, if left exposed they will struggle against even mediocre sides let alone a Klippety team who were properly prepared and drilled and up for it.
