Intersting developments about Bony and DeMichelis as well. Not sure of the point of the Bony signing; if he's going to be bought as cover for our injured strikers, he's off to the ACON isn't he?

Cover? He's better than 2 of them. I'd imagine it's a long term signing not just concerned with the 1 month he's away.

Haha City ruining loan deals, clubs that wouldn't exist if we didn't set them up, New Years eve for Wenger and pissing off all Chelsea fans and Maureen.

Although I can never understand why Chelsea have any viewpoint as he was released by them.

Mourinho is adamant that Chelsea offered him a new contract, albeit with a 50% pay cut. Lampard denies it.

ReallY? Where has he said that? Every interview I've seen has Mourinho saying that Chelsea "were right to let him go"

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists the club made the right decision in not keeping Frank Lampard as it would have hindered the development of younger players.
The former England midfielder left Stamford Bridge last summer as the club's all-time leading goalscorer, and after initially signing for Major League Soccer franchise New York City he was loaned to sister club Manchester City.
Lampard has responded with six goals this season - including Saturday's winner at Leicester - to show he can still do a job in the Premier League, but Mourinho is unrepentant about the decision to allow the 36-year-old to leave.
"It's his life, nothing to do with us. He left Chelsea as a free agent and chooses his life, we can't complain about it. That's football," said the Portuguese.
"My view is that when you want to look forward, look to the future and have people like (Cesc) Fabregas and (Nemanja) Matic and Jeremie Boga (a midfielder with the under-21s) which are the next 10 years of the club.
"The project is to prepare for the next 10 years, not for the next year - we made the right decision.
"You can argue 'You have John Terry and Didier Drogba'. Different. Drogba is a striker that is coming to help and support the team.
"John Terry is the best central defender in English football and it doesn't matter how old he is.
"The nucleus of the team has to be developed and to have a big player like Frank we would stop the development of the other guys."

I was in favour of Super Frank joining New York City in the Summer and still think this could have been the best option / compromise.

However, I thought the USA was a democracy and would respect a Ayer wanted to spend a bit longer in the country he has grown up in and made his career.

I am not surprised about the Third Rail reaction but I thought you guys had more about you. Enjoy the start of the season with World Class ayers like David Villa!

Any "fan" that's just there because Lampard is playing can piss off. Not what NYCFC need. Hopefully this weeds out a lot of the fanboys. Support the club, not the player. In the meantime this has given me some hilarity while I work.
