Player topic: Frank Lampard (2014/15)

Nice gesture from Lampard yesterday, giving his shirt to the 17 year old Stoke debutant Oliver Shenton whose mother died two weeks ago:

Credit also to Hughes for giving him the debut,a nice touch and good management.

Maybe, but felt it would of been better if the lad could of had atleast 5 minutes on pitch and not seconds. IMO would of been better experience for him to hear the fans cheering him on, which I'm sure Stoke fans would of done despite the game being beyond their reach at that point.

Was gonna post the same, 'class' is such an overused term but Lampards got it.

Me too. He's a great guy

I wish MP would give him more game time, (particularly when Yaya was away).

He ghosts in to great positions. Dzeko should have squared the ball to Lampard in the Stoke game he would have tapped it in.

So glad we managed to sign him, he can have a great influence on the youngsters.

Probably on my own here but think overall he's been poor and a couple of goals have masked this .
Wonder weather the powers to be will think its been worth all the bad press over NYC as its turned out it was said they wanted him to fill for yaya but don't think he's hardly played

I like to think his performance was a bit overrated by the press, and yes, his goals have masked it. So no, you are not alone.
But Í don't regret we signed him for a year because:
- he is still very usefull coming on as a late sub and hurt tiring opponentsn with great vision and runs in the box
- I'm sure he brings a lot of experience with him that seems to be needed during CL-games and off the pitch
- he doesn't seem to hold back the progress of any other players, senior or EDS for that matter

I hope he gets to play more coming on as a sub. Not sure why he wasn't brought on that much in Jan, especially in the few games when we were down.

Anyone seen the video of when Frank is warming up on Wednesday and the inbreds are singing frank lampard is a wanker is a wanker. Then city score and he points over to our fans celebrating and carries on warming up :)
Brilliant off him, glad he came to us
