Some people are overly-protective and others overly-critical of the guy but tonight he stepped up a level and surprised me. Don't know whether it was down to playing his old team or something else but well played. His crossing, willingness to shoot and use of his pace to drive at the defence were all excellent.

Another performance of real quality. One of the crosses he whipped in was top class, put another couple in too and was unlucky with a couple of decent shots. When I see him whacking decent shots in and whipping balls in like he did tonight (along with his very tidy play in tight spaces that is to be expected from him) I look and think that the only ting that's holding him back from being a top class player is his mentality. If he had the arrogance of ronaldo he probably still wouldn't be as good as him but I think he'd be as good as or superior to the likes of de Bruyne. It's just that more often than not he doesn't cross them in like he did tonight, or shoot with any real intent. The flip side of all that is that he's a very hard worker and is happy to do his bit as a squad player and doesn't rock the boat when he's on the bench, but I'd just love to see a bit more arrogance from him

He's been very good in the last two and a half games, and deserves more credit than he gets. Not the best player in the world, but works very hard and offers balance. He's not the problem with the team at present.

They had a free kick that hit the post. Watch again if you recorded the full game. After set up there is a push/ shove at the far post, the ref blows his whistle and talks to the perpetrators. Whilst everyone is waiting Navas calls to Jo Hart and asks him if the wall is right. Jo looks and repositions the wall. Probably made the free kick taker shoot that extra inch or two wider that took the ball onto the post. Im sure Jo acknowledged Navas for that after the play broke down. Attention to detail..... Switched on. Take note Mr Bony.

How far did the little f**ker run tonight, must have covered every inch of grass. Puts a shift in every game what more do we need.Tonight he bailed both Zab and Sagna out of the mire.

He's not the problem with the team at present.

But the easiest target.
I like Navas, he can be incredibly frustrating at times, but he never shirks and he always causes problems for the opposition.
