The problem is, people slaughter him for wasting good opportunities, but don't give him any credit for getting into them in the first place. His movement and control is absolutely exceptional, as is his passing, he very rarely loses the ball other than with his diabolical crossing. These positions don't just happen automatically, as we saw against Palace when he didn't play. But the nyou have to weigh that up against how incredibly poor he is when he gets into those positions (which is undeniable)

It's a toss up, would you rather have Nasri, who might waddle into one or two good positions a game but has maybe a one in 5 chance of creating or scoring a goal when he gets there, or Navas, who manages to get into 10 or 15 good positions a game but probably only creates a good chance one out 10? Neither is ideal, but personally I'd rather have the guy who wastes a bunch but creates a bunch than the guy who doesn't affect the game at all. His game is pretty much summed up by his stats, only 2 out of 20 crosses went to one of our players, but he had more key passes than any other player. A few hits and an awful lot of misses.

Thought he played quite well today to be honest. He's the easiest player to blame though for some.
On another day we'd have scored 4 or 5 with the chances created today.

I think a few numpties on here need to watch the game again and pay special attention to his performance, that or follow another sport

100% agree.....can't believe some of the stuff on here about him. Never went missing. Kept trying to get ( and succeeded ) in getting to bye line and putting balls in.

Only 1 culprit for not scoring today - Mr Aguero..... He had a mare of a game.

Oh a Stirling did what exactly ?

So stop being one dimensional in your digs at the lad - he was far from being anywhere near our worst player tonight.

Feel sorry for him. He's running at pace so he can only do a few things when it comes to crossing. Stand it up for Aguero to not jump for it, drill it low, which is unlikely to get through a packed defence, or pull it back to Aguero or Toure.

It wouldn't kill one of our other attackers to at least make a run towards the near post once in a while either.

He was good today was Navas. Would love to see him Sterling switch though and have Navas cutting in and driving at the defence with his pace. He couldn't score any less could he, so maybe its worth a shot.

Pretty much sums it up for me, although I'm not as clearly in favour of Navas over Nasri. Horses for courses, perhaps.

once again...watch the game again....west ham gave him as much room as he wanted thats why he was in those spaces but they knew he was no threat as every ball went nowhere
