His spreadeagled (butterfly) style of shot keeping ala ice hockey leads to passive not proactive goal keeping.
See the "five hole" goal for CP's 1st goal too.

His "static" footwork and positioning (viz exposing his left side for CP's 2nd' goal ) is poor .

Hart is not a top GK. PL stats this season confirms it..

What stats are you on about?

He's won the Golden Glove, 3 out of the last 5 seasons.

Last clean sheet Hart had was the last game City won.
Then Hart made Zero (0) saves.
Should Hart be credited with it?
Following that @ Selhurst Park CP had 2 goals (on 3 shots on target) with Hart GK's poor performance as cite per above .

Anyways bottom line we should scrutinized and review our GK situation. Our opponents, including the ratface*, have sussed up on us.
*To wit 'show his left leg' advising our opponents how to stop our icon Aguero from scoring.

2014-2015 seasons stats on PL goal keepers confirms that Hart is not a top GK.

The definitive post that confirms either you're a wum/troll or your status as the boards leading KFA.

Enlighten the sane and reasonable majority ? Which is it ?

I thought Hart should have saved Fellaini's header and possibly done a little better with Mata's offside goal.

Hart's still a top goalkeeper and should have got the armband when Kompany came off.

That 'passive' goalkeeping as you call it was the exact same style which kept the scoreline at Barca respectable.

Rakitic's chipped goal?

PL matches to date?

Bore off.

I think we are at a place where we are looking for someone to blame, and really there really isnt anyone. We are just a generally weaker team than we used to be.

We did not improve our first 11 this summer and thus we lost ground on the others. This is normal. Like I've always said of Joe Hart, he might not be World class, but he is a championsip winning caliber goalie and I wouldn't be looking at changing him.

But there was something that struck me during the game Yesterday. Both Hart and De Gea made masterful point blank saves to keep their teams in it. But What differentiate the World class from the very good (and yes De Gea is world class) is the effect on the game. First 15 minutes we are dominant, rampant even, and had United under pressure. so much so that a CB gives a bad back pass to De Gea. De Gea steps up with a speedy Navas barring down on him and punts an accurate ball cross field to set up what became their first shot on goal and equalizer. A few minutes later Hart gets a back pass under no pressure and punts it out for a throw in.

And right there, the difference between good and world class could not be clearer. :(

Ah come on, he punted the ball upfield. Luckily for them Zaba was outnumbered by the bog brush and Blind(?).

Hart's kicking ain't great but who does he have to get on the end of them punts? No one.

The rags have an out with Fellaini and that was one of the biggest differences between the sides, when the pressure comes on them deep they pump it long to Fellaini and it sticks, it's perfect for the percentages game that they play.

We don't have that, we did with the Beast and hopefully we might do again with Bony.

Lots of his punts on the day were to players feet not heads. Sure Feliani is a beautiful knock down to have, but he was targeting players with direct play.

He got lucky with that punt mate, there was no other direction to go apart from where he went.

England's number one and top goalkeeper so everyone tells us.....

Recall the last time Hart was benched? Let me quote Pellers

"It was not easy to take this decision. Last time I was in doubt before the internationals but I thought that moment it was important to trust in Joe because the England team also needed him."
&
Clemence, who coached Hart while at England, admits the keeper has not been at his best but feels he can cope with the disappointment of losing his place.

"The most important thing for Pellegrini is not Joe Hart and England but it's Manchester City and he has to put out a team that he feels can win the game."

This season All of us knows that Hart has been average. The last match we won City had a clean sheet (Hart made 0 saves) while losing at
Selhurst Park, Hart was poor & let in 2 goals on 3 shots, and @ OT (4 goals on 7 shots) .

We have a poor dismal record with him as the GK since Boxing day. The last time we dropped Hart to give him a 'rest' we hammered Norwich 7-0.
It's about time! Our opponents have scouted Hart's 'weaknesses' very well.
