Got a feeling that this kid will be one of the few to make it from the current Academy crop. Fingers crossed.

He spent only one year with the academy team and for most of the part he was injured, so his progress and eventual integration to the first team squad would be more of a success of our scouting system, or recruitment policy (as his talent was quite obvious, of course).

But anyway, it is nice to see a change finally and see a young fresh lad getting his chance. We should splash all the cash out for players like Sterling as we clearly have all the resources, but we have to show the youngsters that there indeed is a way through even for them.

I feel bad complaining about anything considering the way we are playing but if there is on thing I that bothers me is Pellegrini's youth policy. Before Ihenacho's debut he has only given debuts to Huws and Pozo. Nacho's been on the bench for all the games this season, can't see why he didnt bring him on sooner considering how much we have dominated games.
If my quick research is correct Huws was only given 13 mins of game time under Pellegrini.
We know Pozo got a couple of games. Mancini on the other hand blooded over 10 lads into the team. Even Sven gave debuts to 5 or so.
I guess it's to be expected with a premier league winning squad, why should he play youngsters when he has seasoned internationals at his disposal.
Its one thing I wish we could see more of but I really can't see it happening. It's a shame but it is a small price to pay for the success

While I am all for promoting youth, it has to be when they are ready. I am not sure we have many player, aside from Nacho, who are not on loan (or heading that way) and are ready for the first team.

Think about Boyata. I think he went backwards due to being thrown into the first team to quickly

well if we'd gone 3 up, I think he'd have been on sooner. Can't blame Pelle for being a bit nervous after the number of times we threw away 2 goal leads last season.
