Assist stats are misleading anyway as they only count assists that lead to goals. You could provide say 15 great ones, but if the keeper makes a save or the teamate spurns the chance, there is no acknowledgment ,statistically,of your good play.
Well assists are for goals. There are stats for chances created though.

Think it's time Yaya hands direct free kick duties to De Bruyne now. He's got a great technique and has scored 2 for Belgium and 1 for us now recently.

Could picture Toure and Kolarov biting their respective bottom lips last night; that was an incredible shot and would have passed two goalkeepers. Kolarov can still take them if it favours his side, but Yaya can put the protractor down for now.

The shot that hit the post for the goal was ridiculous, he didn't take another touch didn't even seem to look up but knew where the goal was. Incredible player and you can tell he loves playing with Silva.

9 goals already for him this season.

He's some player, arguably our most productive (in terms of goals and assists). You can see he was top class by the way he effortlessly fit in, same with Sterling and Otamendi

I get the feeling that he likes Nacho too.

I might be imagining things but he seems to be sick of the almost there nature of Sterling and Yaya and even Aguero (yet). When the other players become crisper then I think we'll see even more from KDB.

Put it this way, had he signed for Barca, Real or Bayern he'd be talked about as the most likely next "best player in the world". Not just because of the club status but because those around him would make him shine with more consistent passing and movement. We are not at our best this season so are actually holding him back I think. I can't wait for us to click but it means Yaya, Sterling, Bony, Aguero, almost everyone raising their game together.

In the meantime I think KDB has definite favourites who's qualities shine through like Nacho and Silva.

I think the fact he's played little with Silva and Aguero is a big factor, he needs their movement. Add Sterling to the mix and you've an interchangeable front four who can wreak havoc.

That was an extraordinary free kick. The ball swerved and dipped viciously. I noticed in the last couple of games that KDB has been itching to take a free kick near the box, but Yaya has always pulled rank on him. I hope that Pellers tells Yaya that Kev needs to be given his fair share of the free kicks.
